It doesn't change the fact that Henrik is an absolute goon who is probably the worst person to put as the face of our sport. Skiing with goggles on backwards? Screaming about 2Pac/Biggie/ODB?!?!?! Thank the fucking lord ESPN did not give him an interview.
Don't get me wrong, it was a sick trick, I just wish someone else threw it.

OP has every right to think Henrik is a gooner (he is), but he needs to recognize that the guy's one of the best park skiers in the game now, if not the best. Everyone else in this thread (except that dinosaur guy) needs to recognize that he's a fucking white swedish dude with dreadlocks and grills.

So just cause he likes Biggie, ODB, Pac he's a goon and a gangster?  People need to open there minds and accept other cultures and realize that people are generally good and when you show them love they will love you back.  His swag might seem a little weird to some but they should appreciate the fact that he's isn't a cookie cutter image the thread starter wants to see (Nick Goepper). Did anyone here him also shout out to Sarah and CR?  Mad Respect.  So what he shouted out PAC, ODB and BIG, there influences to him.  Liking raps music doesnt make you a gangster, and neither does making it.

Do not have the patience to read this 4 page useless thread, so i guarantee this is a restatement, but Henrik absolutely deserves to be the face of this sport. What kind of guy travels the country, skis small hills/parks with local kids and then goes out and crushes at X? I can vouch that he is the nicest guy, however unintelligent he may be. However, if you take the stance that intelligence ashames our sport, I'd refer you to Tanner Hall- he once was the same kind of icon. He's not the brightest of the bunch, but he absolutely deserved to be recognized the way he did. Henrik is the best skier in the world, and deserves the spotlight.

can someone answer this? i havent seen anything where he shouts out biggie pac and odb.
and they didnt give him an interview because they ran over their air time. its not that they were trying to make themselves not look like a bunch of dickasses. they did the same with the UNC-NC state game before the Xgames. NC states beat duke and UNC in the first regular season in 10 years, and they went straight to the xgames.

This is just ridiculous. It's called FREESKIING for a reason dipshit. It's supposed to be an expression of yourself, and being a cool freeskier doesn't mean that you're quiet all the time and don't do obnoxious shit from time to time. Harlaut is a prime example of how we all should act within the sport, stoked on ever single peice of life there is. Hell, if he broke his back he'd be stoked on the fact that he didn't die, and he'll be back on skis eventually.

I am going to have to agree with the OP on this. Like I don't want to tell ppl I freeski and then have them think oh you're like that henrik guy aren't you. I mean fuck most ppl when they watch this shit to begin with think you have to be retarded to try it since there is so much danger involved. Doesn't help when Henrik praises tupac and biggie and barks at the camera.

I just don't get it like look at what he just posted on facebook: "HOLY SOOOOOO STOKED!!! 100% podium on every event this season!!! 2 x-games medals in 2 days... Tearz of joy!! THANK YOU ALL FOR THE LOVE AND SUPPORT!!!"

That is a perfect response that if he had said at x-games would of been great. But instead it just a bunch of nonsense.

Nothing at all... Except when you just achieved your dream and career high you would think you would have something more important to praise than your music influences. Hence that Facebook post I quoted, that was a perfect response. And I mean he said it too, idk why he couldn't of just said that then.

Like its not that I have a problem with his music influences, I listen to biggie and pac as well. It's just the timing to do that was not appropriate I feel.

I agree, he also thanked CR and Sarah. Which shows that he's not some idiot saying whatever the hell comes into his head. He was thanking his influences, the people he looks up to that contribute to the way he skis and his style. E-dollo in my opinion is the best skier out there right now and I don't understand all the hate that's going around right now.

Every sport has its wild card. Basketball had Dennis Rodman, Skateboarding has Richie Jackson, and I guess skiing has Henrik. And you know what? I am proud as a skier to have someone so stoked on everything around him in circumstances good and bad finally got the goddamn recognition he deserved. Honestly, if I was in his position, I would have gone wilder than that. So what, he gives a couple shout outs to several people who obviously influence his skiing? That's all? I don't see anything wrong with that.

why not give people the freedom from judgement and let them ski with whatever style they prefer, i wouldn't have cared if he was rocking skinny jeans or a 10xl finish line tee, so fuck you for such a harsh judgement against such a sick skier with soo much stoke for the sport itself..in fact isnt the sport basically called FREESTYLE skiing, meaning that you are free to rock whatever style you want while skiing. Why should it matter that he doesnt have a clean shaven face, loves to wear grills, and has dreadlocks, Fuck you OP, get a fucking life and stop judging other people

so disrespectful. Henrick is life loving super human that puts more heart and soul into his skiing than just about anyone out there. He's not some disrespectful asshole or dirty goon, you dont even know the guy. hes been traveling the country to ski all over the place at tiny mountains with tiny little parks with kids and fans to share his love and stoke for the sport of skiing instead of hanging out at big resorts "training" for the xgames. dont be mad cuz henrick can more fun than anyone, and still slay harder than anyone when it comes down to it. He deserves as much acknowledgement as any other freeskier out there.

Do you honestly come on to NS just to hate on the Inspired Crew

I don't know how you can hate on these people so much. They honestly inspire(d) more stoke for skiing then probably any other ski crew in the world right now. Henrik and the rest of the inspired media family go skiing to have fun, not to learn tricks or chad out in the gym. Henrik comes in to every jump and every feature with a smile on his face regardless of the situation. The work he is doing on the inspired media tour is actually inspiring a new generation of skiiers to go out there and slay and that's more important than anything.
People who aren't in tune with the sport obviously don't understand the backward goggles or the wu-tang but does it really matter? They saw him throw a nose butter triple, a next level trick, they saw him get a 50 and get rewarded for his innovation and style. Even the public can recognize how sick that was, they see Bobby Brown Kai Mahler and those other kids throwing triples but to them they all look the same. Henrik's trick is something that people can tell is different and gets them stoked too.
Get over yourself and see what it actually did for the sport

Say what you want but what I stated is what a lot of the general public and NON freesking community thinks.

Which intern will hinder our growth as a sport(other sponsors etc...).  But i'm sure you'll come up with some bullshit arguement about how you want to keep skiing "core".

To that I say no one really cares what you think.
