It doesn't change the fact that Henrik is an absolute goon who is probably the worst person to put as the face of our sport. Skiing with goggles on backwards? Screaming about 2Pac/Biggie/ODB?!?!?! Thank the fucking lord ESPN did not give him an interview.
Don't get me wrong, it was a sick trick, I just wish someone else threw it.

now while that may sound gay it's the truth. i could not be more stoked for him and for skiing right now. looks like we might be heading in the right direction after all.

So you're concerned about his image? He's not your spokesperson. He is one of the most prominent figures of freeskiing, and what YOU think does not represent what everyone else thinks. If he wants to be gangster let him be gangster, its his choice. Don't tell me you don't want skiing to have this image only because you're afraid of others associating you with it when they ask you what sports you like.

hes a perfect guy to be the face of freeskiing. he portrays all of the freeskiing qualities. if you want it to be preppy have like bobby brown.  but if you want it to be true have edollo. he listens to rap, wears big clothes,has the irie thing going on, hes hyphy, thode are all things that lots of the skiing community can relate to.

He changed skiing last night, he did things you would only think of in a video game.

THE BEST PART?

HES NEVER EVEN ATTEMPTED A TRIPLE BEFORE! He just shitted of all of the guys training for years to put one on their feet, and he landed one his first try.
He is the most talented skier in the game right now, he has more tricks in his bag he can pull out at any time than any other skier.
He made history last night and got his first x games gold, and just because he's different he shouldnt have some tv time?
Just because the 2 things he's most passionate about is skiing and rap music means he cant give some shout outs?

i find it funny how henriks been skiing tiny east coast resorts for the past month and a half just spreading his love for skiing when every one else is training at breck and etc. perfecting there tricks. that just shows how good he is

Stoked for Henrik, kid is a character for sure. But honestly yes that kid has a great personality and is always having fun, but would it really be that difficult to say something close to a rational thought while being on camera?

This is where everyone is dead fucking wrong.  The vast majority of public have no CLUE what skiing really consists of.  For fucks sake they have greenday and Calvin Harris at the X games promoting.  You rats just don't understand the concept that XGAMES is the face of our sport(all freestyle skiing) to the general public.  It's not eric pollard or a new 4bi9 edit.  AND YES it DOES affect me because it gives an image that we're all a ganagster praising jah/wu tang.

Don't get me wrong I like henrik and think he's a top notch park skier.  But you really can't deny that the majority of people watching x games don't think he's a kook and know he's joking when he praises wu tang clan/barks?

It's the nature of the game now that skiing has gotten so big everyones just to caught up with the new trick to make mention of it.

OP respect for stating facts.  Sorry that people can't see outside the box (ski community).

I can't disagree. Normal people don't get this, and I doubt NS will see it the other way because we love skiing, most of our best friends are skiers, and we live for skiing. You have to stop looking at him as a skier and start looking at him as a person.

Henrik, I love you. Please keep doing what you're doing, because I love seeing you stoked as shit on the TV. It makes me want to ski SO BADLY. I don't care if OP and others don't like how you portray skiing and you shouldn't either.
