It doesn't change the fact that Henrik is an absolute goon who is probably the worst person to put as the face of our sport. Skiing with goggles on backwards? Screaming about 2Pac/Biggie/ODB?!?!?! Thank the fucking lord ESPN did not give him an interview.
Don't get me wrong, it was a sick trick, I just wish someone else threw it.

Im guessing OP has never met henrik.

I met him last week and he is the nicest person i have ever had the pleasure meeting. The guy is stoked on everything, literally everything. He just broke the fucking barrier for freeskiing.

Guys I completely respect his love for the sport, his stoke, and his talent. I think all of that is awesome and I was stoked to see him pushing the limit tonight just as much as anyone else was.

ALL I AM SAYING is that I wish he would have a little bit more of a cleaner image and it's kind of obnoxious to broadcast that whole portrayal on nat'l TV as that being skiing.

That is what makes skiing better. It isn't about training, winning, or being a jock. It's about having fun and being stoked no matter how people look at you. Henrik is a way better representative for our sport than Brown, Kenworthy, or some other jock skier.

If there is one guy I want to be the face of skiing its him. Yeah he is a goon but he is the most hard working stoked skier I have ever seen. He always has a smile and loves what he does. Nothing against Tom but if you know anything about skiing or watch any of the 4bi9 videos you would be disappointed in that lifestyle. I love watching dollo ski because he makes me smile and want to love skiing as much as him. Plus he is taking skiing to a whole new level with his shit. If triples weren't enough throwing a nose butter trip after he was already sitting pretty in first place was unreal

last year at dew tour i met most of the bigger name competition skiers (tom, henrik, torin, dumont, sammy, wise, bobby, etc) and henrik was BY FAR the most hype on skiing and the coolest guy overall. He was so psyched to meet fans and was so psyched to talk to everyone. He is by far the most deserving of the gold for big air and his butter trip will go down in history. i am a huge henrik fan and am so stoked for him tonight. drunk/thread

Maybe you're just in the wrong sport then bud. FREESTYLE skiing is all about freedom of expression and I think Henrik demonstrates that perfectly, not only with his tricks but with his personality. Hes an incredibly positive and nice guy (definitely the type of person I want associated with my sport). Sure he may come across as a bit of a "wangster" to the unwashed masses, but he owns it and that alone is worth respecting.

To each his own, but if you honestly have a problem with diversity and creativity than you should probably quit freestyle skiing and take up something like football or golf.

Haha I love when kids post shit like this. If any random kid at the ski hill acted like Henrik did, everyone would point, laugh, and call him a fucking retard. Fortunately, because he's a pro, we can just attribute it to his fun-loving nature and the core of being "freestyle."

I'd say he's pretty far from "owning" that persona since he's Sweden, speaks broken english, and at the same time, believes he's a member of a rap group based out of Staten Island.

His appearance and obnoxiousness was so bad that ESPN took the cameras off of him as soon as they could. For fucks sake, they even gave Torstein an interview when all he does is talking about banging his snowboard.
