Lack of variety in snowboarding

I was watching sum burton snowboard movie and it seemed all the jumps were the same; spin with a a indy grab, it got kinda boring so i checked outa snowboard mag and took the first 10 pics with riders in the air and 7 were doin indy grabs, with the exception of gigi ruff it seems this is the norm, a few years ago with skiing it seemed that skiing was goin that way with just throwing a safety grab with everything, but thankfully this has changed and it seem doin a tech grab with ur trick is becoming the way to go.

snowboarding is so boring! theres only a small part of it that is really cool. I was looking through some of my friends mags and it was extremly boring stuff, but then again most of mainstream skiing is boring to me. Ilike the corey smith shit, urban bank slashes that stuff. A seventwenty over chads gap doesn' do it for me.

Shit, how could I forget about that. Really though I think it is a tie for how big people go in the BC on a constant basis just because it is impossible to tell. I mean, slow motion, different camera angles, back drop (such as crevasses making it look bigger than really is) just various things like that. Two things though that I'm sure of is that snowboaders own rails and forever shall and butter smoothness.

Snowboarding is not determining the direction of skiing. It provided the necessary inspiration to revitalize the lagging sport, however, I believe we as skiers have been liberated from snowboarding. According to your logic, if snowboarding ceased to exist right now, skiing would also die. This of course is not the case.
Oh yeah, and B-flip: correct spelling can be left out but for God's sake use some fucking punctuation lol.

if snowboarding died right now, skiing would blow up both economically and innovatively. This serves to show that as long as snowboarders are doing things first, they WILL be influencing the direction of our sport. They are separate sports with their own directions, but it is pretty incredible that people actually deny what snowboarders do first and claim that it was invented by skiers. The only things that are innovations by skiers are things that simply CANNOT be done on a snowboard. There aren't many of these yet, but I think that the future will mark a divergence between the two sports because we're rapidly catching up. I'm just saying we're not QUITE there yet.

I think skiing is influenced mainly by what the pros are influenced by, so obviously there is a variety of influences. Snowboarding being the biggest of course since its so similar. But it also seems like there is alot of pros who dont want to see snowboarding be so influential in skiing. Like JP Auclair.
I think people shouldnt stress on who did what first and just look at skiing and what looks good. Cause isnt that the point of a trick?

skiers on rails suck compared to snowboarders , the only 3 good rail tricks ive evere seen from skiers on hand rails is liam downey in the high 5 trailer doing that c rail to stall on the other rail 18i0 out that was fukin sick dude. 2nd was dc in forward 2 tricks actualy 1 tail press 180 out on the electical box 2nd butter 270 on pretzel out that was sick and 3rd was tanner in the wski trailer lipslide 450 out on the flat down flat. other than these 3 rails all other skiers do the exact same shit, i have respect for guys doing massive 6 kinks and stuff liek that but its time skiers steped up and started doing more nose slide/tail slides , more nose and tail presses and more spins and butter onto hand rails i know its way harder on skis but theres only so many stock slide you can watch in 1 movie. Also 1 other thing is nollies and fakie ollies.

I would never say though that snowboarding lacks variety.
I love both sports, and I fail to see how one has more room for diversity than the other.
I would kinda disagree about snowboarders going bigger in the backcountry though. DeMarchi and Rice in Pop is ridiculous, but that's hardly the norm. Don't forget as well that Candide nailed the sweetest D-Spin ever off Chad's gap way back in 'Further' (I think?) off a jump that I'm guessing wasn't close to as good.
But yeah if anyone thinks that snowboarding lacks variety go and check Pop out and then see if you still think that's the case...

iamnothing, I dont know what mountain you chill at but here only 2 percent of the snowboarders do something decent and by decent I mean sliding the whole rail not doing a 50-50, or actually clearing the big air (or any jump for that matter) doing a spin without crashing. While many many skiers can clear all the jumps including the big air, doing tricks other than spread eagles and can slide the box, *GASP!* sideways. Posers out number real riders more than in skiing.
