I think its conceivable that a radio station would get the radio edit of a song the day before the release date. This would account for why its too short and why its being put up by that station. I dont know that its real, but IMO its totally possible
its probably a bootlegged radio edit with some unused parts or a couple lines of vocals added in by a random person. also the only parts that are new are the first set of vocals before the chorus and that little melody at the very end, but that is quintessential daft punk
pretty much confirmed that the leak is fake, but the track list went up today and is real. rumors of the actual version of get lucky being released on friday, but they said the same thing about this past monday
1) "Give Life Back to Music"
2) "The Game of Love"
3) "Giorgio by Moroder"
4) "Within"
5) "Instant Crush"
6) "Lose Yourself to Dance"
7) "Touch"
8) "Get Lucky"
9) "Beyond"
10) "Motherboard"
11) "Fragments of Time"
12) "Doin' It Right"
13) "Contact"
is it any different from the leaked version? apparently columbia said the leaked one wasn't real, but it seems exactly the same, maybe just a less polished version
i'm stoked for the full version. this is sweet but not as exciting since we've already heard every part of the song
either way daft punk never fails to impress. my favorite part of the song by far is that little melody in like the last 20 seconds. very classic and awesome digital love type sound
after listening to get lucky a bunch there are so many subtleties that are straight genius. the main parts sound tired since i used to listen to those ridiculous loops of snl commercials for hours on youtube, but there are so many little ways in which they hold everything together that you know were meticulously planned and detailed
i heard get lucky on the radio yesterday on some shit top hits station that plays maroon 5 and bruno mars and all those horrible abominations. very weird but this album is so well hyped that even people who have never heard of daft punk are getting stoked
that's funny, i was reading a different review today that said Touch was an amazing song. i wouldn't say the review was disappointed, it's just different. sure it'll separate their fan base, but look back to human after all. half their fans were like "this is horribly repetitive" and the other half said "this is fucking amazing," mainly because it was such a different sound from discovery
i'm excited for it. as awesome as homework is, discovery is more entertaining and easy to listen to, and i think it's cool that they're basically using their style to connect their old samples to the sounds of the original songs. one review said that if digital love was your favorite song on discovery then the new album would be a hit, so i'm pretty stoked
i'm not too worried about the sound since i'm confident they will put together something awesome regardless of the genre. most of what i think will be amazing about the album is their attention to detail and meticulously planned tracks, and stuff like that will make it great even for people who don't like disco. i think they're past the point of proving themselves as extremely good house producers, and now they've moved on to trying (very blatantly) to come across as musical geniuses. this album will kind of be that ultimate test and i'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt because, well, they're fucking awesome
*Pharrell. Just kidding. But really, Pharrell I'd the only reason I'm interested in this Cd right now. Get lucky is a great song and it really reminds me of nerd. I hope the other collab is just as dope
