Saga Shutout- a bad choice?

I've always thought the jacket looked sick and when Saga put em up for 100 bucks I just had to grab one. But I just read online that it's not waterproof whatsoever. Since I'm going to be doing a lot more than just lapping the park (all mountain shit but no back country), should I cancel the order? Or maybe keep the jacket and get a second one? +k to helpful answers, +k to good jokes

i wouldnt say it isnt water proof at all but if waterproofing is VERY important to you than i owuld step up to the anomie

Well man, you are skiing in the east if I'm not mistaken. So I'm pretty sure you won't have wet pnw powder. You might ski rain thought, but well it will be good enough. I pretty sure the shutout is insulated, so it would be good for you if you don't like to wear baselayers and such to be warm. I won't suggest it if you are into BC and touring/hiking but i'm pretty sure you don't do that stuff. My tought is go for it man

Well you might want to anomie instead, but you can wash the shutout with nikwax.

The shutout is definitely 10k. I love mine. Layer with it correctly and its a good jacket for anything in the negatives till about 50. Then its hot.
