Hey, whats up everyone?
Me and a few friends from friendly Wisconsin Midwest are going to plan a road trip out west
so i haves a few questions...
1. Is it better to go rocky mountains, like vail, breck etc... or the Coast like BC, Tahoe, Hood etc?
2. Which is the best place for park and all mtn and fo your money?
3. Is it better to go during, say, winter like Christmas break, or winter not during break, or Summer, doing or not doing a camp?
I think thats it boys, if there's anything else we should know, just post it all help would be greatly appreciated, and please no crap posts that waste both of our time
Later

Tahoe has the most snow (Kirkwood I think it was...biggest snowfall of any USA resort). Parks are pretty decent in most of the fields around Tahoe.
Um, don't go during winter break. The place is packed. It's seems half of california is in Tahoe during the break.
What gravity?

You have to make a stop at Mt Bachelor. And like the lodging in Bend isn't that much i think.
I have this idea here. K if some west coast peeps want to go back east fo skiing, and the east coast wanna come out here to the west. hows bout u stay at eachothers houses that way u don't have to ppay fo hotles.
ya i Would come right after christmas break if i were u guys. so it isn't crowded. no lines r always nice.

can't go wrong with tahoe in february or spring break, so many options, always a ton of snow, great parks, terrain, etc

Who ever said Kirkwood gets the most snowfall, i'm pretty sure Baker gets the most, yeah world record snow fall a couple years ago. I would go all the way to the coast to find the best parks and mountains.

i think baker, at least on average kills kirkwood. kirkwood gets like 500 tops, and baker gets like 700.

ok, about coming out west if you can don't come during a holiday or anything. come for like monday-friday during a week that not a holiday so it's not friken crowded as hell. most larger resorts you could choose between tahoe and colorado will be basically the same when it comes to parks, and colorado has some good terrain, but tahoe just has better snow. if i were you i'd go to jackson cause you could stay the the Hostel, which is pretty cheap, its only a minute walk from the tram, they have the sickest terrain and i think they finally good a pretty good park.

yeah kirkwood pretty much kills everyone on snowfall, except baker usually. In the mid-late 90s, kirkwood had the most snow in north america like 5 out of 6 years, with the exception being baker's record breaking year in '99. baker gets like 600 on average if I'm not mistaken, kirkwood about 500 (about 900 in '95). kirkwood's got a better park no contest though.

It all depends on the kind of skier you are. If you want park, Breck, Mammoth, or Whistler. If you wanna ski some near BC inbounds and amazing BC outta bounds, Jackson, Alta, Maybe some Tahoe areas. If you want more info on Colorado I know quite a bit.
