so basically, i wanted to have an new subscription on an dutch freeski magazine, and my good friend toonoman wanted a new goggle.
so if you were an new member to the freeski magazine you could choose to get a gift, and we choose to have the magazine and a new goggle for 35 euros extra.
now the thing is we wanted to have that goggle asap because we were leaving on a trip to france 1 week later. so the people from the magazine sended the goggle out asap and were pretty damn friendly to help us and the goggle was delivered in time.
15 minutes ago there was an package delivered for me, and in that package is now another goggle!
clearly its a mistake from the magazine, but should i send it back? or should i keep it?

to be honest, a magazine which is sending out goggles will probably be paying a lot less than you would pay in a store. it's a mistake on their behalf and some people would say the right thing to do is send it back.
if i were you, i'd write them a well formed letter saying what has happened, and see where it goes from there. just inform them of your situation, and i'm sure it will turn out ok.

send them an email saying they sent you an extra one, most likely they will say just keep it and then your conscience will be clean, if they say send it back, then send it back.

If so I think they will let you keep it.

I would definitely send them an email. The worst that would happen is you sending it back but they would probably end up saying keep them.

They'll probably let you keep it if you send an email. Oh and just out of curiosity, what kind of goggles are they?

Send them an email, the chances of them wanting to pay the cost of return shipping is pretty low.
When banshee bungee was first starting up I filled out an order online to get a shipping estimate, but never filled out PayPal/credit card info. About a week later a banshee bungee showed up at my door. I emailed them and let them know they had wrongfully sent me a bungee. They sent me a replacement bungee for doing the right thing.

this isn't right. if they wrongly send me an item as small as goggles, i will pay for the return shipping. they are humans after all. don't base your argument on whether they will want to pay or not, just send them a proper hand written letter.

not even. not everyone is going to go out of their way to pay and ship a wrongfully sent item back to the sender, even if it's a small item such as goggles. What would be the benefit of writing a hand written letter besides the fact that it will take the whole process 10x longer than it has to be. If you're already doing the right thing and letting them know they made a mistake, their hardly going to care if you let them know by email, or a hand written letter. It's only goggles.
Also +K for doing the right thing^
