You do realize that tin is used to make things other than smart phones right? And this problem only exists because of a lack of environmental regulation in that area of the world.

Yeah but its only one of the examples of how we are screwing up the environment. How does that justify this. Soon we will be living in our own shit if we keep this up. People are so damn greedy that is the down side to the human species.

It isn't justified by any means but the problem isn't that smart phones use tin, it's the fact that developing countries have little to no environmental regulations(and why would they). It's honestly an extremely tricky situation with out a clear answer. But I can tell you that not using smart phones will do very little to help it.

Its because humans are greedy as fuck. Maybe I'll get drunk enough one day to visit the white house and request a visit with Obama.

If we are more friendly to the earth in the longrun we would make more money and it would make the earth more sustainable. To bad we are greedy and china has some sreious pollution issues on their hands.

How do you plan on fixing this problem? 
 A) become a scientist and invent a "green" smart phone
 B) write letters to all the tech companies asking them to stop
C) be an activist, start an awareness campaign informing people that technology harms the environment
D) make a stupid thread telling the general public not to buy that shit

yes, they fuck the environment. humans fuck the environment too, and i don't see you doing much to stop yourself existing.

we live on earth, and earth does not have infinite resources. either our species will use all of them up, or find a way to sustain our planet using other means from outside (highly unlikely - we would just move somewhere else before that), or we will die out. you can try to stop people from using technology, but mostly, new technology is here to stay, and there's nothing we can do about that.
