he tried a straight triple backflip and he overrated and crushed his head hard into the ground was knocked unconcious and carried away in stretchers but he awoke now and was waving his arms as he was carried away and talking

i thought he was going for a quad. Even if had stomped it would a triple flip have earned many points? Thats not nearly as hard as a triple cork right?

i think he just though "fuck it, im gonna flip more than anyone has ever flipped."

Halldor is like my favourite snowboarder. All I was thinking when he was limp was, fuck, the hit that brought down Sarah was much smaller... Thank God they wear helmets.

Because they're pros and they know how to control themselves enough that when they're hitting rails 3-6 ft off the ground they don't land directly on their domepiece. Max speed in that is like 30-45 mph, nobody will get fucked up THAT badly. When it comes to ice coated pipes or 150 ft big air jumps where a rider is pushing 65+ mph it's a different story.

Agreed. I saw some bad skate injuries when I worked EMS. Stupid kids not wearing helmets. One of which ended up permanently weak on one side.
