Buying boots over the Internet good idea or not?

So I am in dire need of a new pair of boots. but the problem is here in Ireland thers litrally like one shop that sells ski equipment and they dont have any freestyle boots.

Would it be smart of me to buy boots over the internet or would i be just wasting my money?

No such thing as a freestyle boot, they may have features that make them a little better but nonetheless, a boot is a boot. Get fitted for boots, and if you find a pair you got fitted in on the Internet for cheaper then go for 'me.

Dont do this. There is much more to boot fitting then just letting you try the boots on. If you get them online you may save a bit, but you will have to pay for all the fitting, meaning the boots will in fact end up costing you more then if you just got them in a shop in the first place.

Remember fitting is free when you buy in a shop.

It will be expensive but take a trip over to either freezeproshop in edinburgh or ellis brigham in glasgow. Theyre probably the closest and best choices. You could make a proper trip out of it and go on a friday and ski the fridge freestyle set up or go up north and do some real scottish skiing.

Im from Ireland so em getting a flight over to scotland would cost alot of money for me and dont have the time at the moment either

I totally understand that sometimes you just live an area that doesn't have a shop for miles or they have no idea what they are doing and therefore buying boots over the internet is your main option. With that said, however, you need to be aware that there are some really big risks you take with the boot not properly fitting you. What will happen is that you will probably pick a boot that is too big (because it feels comfy in your living room) but after skiing it for a few days you will find that your heel moves and you'll get blisters or you are getting a bit of shinbang. This is a very common scenario.

If you can't get to a good local shop, then perhaps wait until your next ski trip and find some boots at/near the resort where you go. Chances are this will be a lot better than buying a boot online.
