Switching bindings

I'm buying a new pair of skis and I'm wondering if I just put my old bindings into them how hard it is to just switch them back with out going to a ski shop to pay them to do it?

You want to be swapping between skis with the same bindings? Unless you get inserts such as Killer Quivers, I wouldn't recommend it.

Or just remove your bindings off of your old skis onto your new ones? And leave it at that

But if they both have pre drilled holes then why can't I do it? Sorry if I sounds supid

As long as you have a little skill with a screw driver you will be fine moving the bindings between skis. Just make sure you use a good binding glue (not epoxy) and make sure you turn the screws backwards first to locate the threads again.

However if you not experienced with doing things like this dont bother trying unless you can find an old pair of skis to practice on.

Also make sure if you do it you do it the night before you plan to ski, not the same day.

But with binding glue how would I unscrew it?

Water seeps in and can rot the core.
Unless you use a glue (carpenters glue for example), and let it dry and seal, it's just going to wreck your cores.
It's really not recommended.

The point of using binding glue is that you can easily remove the bindings again. Occasionally I get skis in the shop which have had epoxy used for the bindings and it destroys the core when you remove the screws.

So long as you use a good wood glue and let it dry overnight the bindings will be good.

With a set of inserts you just have to use threadlocker, the whole swapping process will be way quicker, and you wont have to worry about rotting your cores out accidentally. Good luck man!
