IMO employers care about the reputability of your degree's program and the school's academic performance than whether or not its private for-profit or not.

That's what I'm thinking but I've heard that these colleges are just a "breeding-ground" for diplomas and that the students aren't really trained well as compared to like a state university or something along those lines.

You mean like University of Phoenix?

It's generally accepted that you buy a degree through these programs. As long as you put in minimal effort and pay, you will graduate.

I know that within the realm of academia, such degrees hold absolutely no weight. Your chances of going to a graduate program at a Public or Private research University is absolutely nil.

As for employers, I doubt you'll get a job with Goldman Sachs or a big 4 firm if you graduate from one of those schools, but for entry level sales or retail, it might be okay.

There are also plenty of horror stories of people who were screwed out of lots of money by these institutions.

I'm sure there is a good school run by your state you can go to that you'll be able to go to forcheap a d get a reputable degree

OP im not basing this on anything other than I myself going a private NOT FOR PROFIT non religious college. But I wouldnt hold to much stock in a rasmussin type college. Also as someone that works for the aforementioned financial institution, not everyone I work with has Ivy league degrees, but none attended a for profit college. There were plenty that had degrees from large well respected state schools.

basically what im saying is go to your local community college, after that transfer to your regional state school (doesnt have to be your states flagship school, university of minnesota etc) and you will in my opinion be far better off.
