looked good, but didn't do a good job of relaying the message about faith and spirituality that was the basis of the entire book. i give the movie a B.
I downloaded a screener torrent off of TPB the other day and watched it. I thought it was a pretty good movie. I fell asleep for a min though and woke up right at the end, so I need to rewatch that part. The ending was pretty cray though from what I was able to piece together.
but that's exactly what it didn't do. the movie came right out and said "there's a version of life where you believe in god, and a version where you don't, which do you prefer?" the book gave the two stories, and made you think a little bit about what they meant and made you think about the value of faith. The movie basically said "life is more interesting and heartwarming if god exists," roll credits.
I read the book last year, and just after I finished heard they were making it into a movie. I hyped it up so much and wasn't let down. I think Ang Lee did an AMAZING job. The CGI was mindblowing, the sets were perfect, and the soundtrack was even better. It really did the book justice, IMO...I just wished it had been out in theaters a bit longer.
