1080s or not?

Hey i just found a pair of last-year's model 1080s in 171cm. They come with salomon s712 bindings. The skis have some top sheet scratches and the bindings a few scratches, but the bases and edges are in great shape, just a little rust on the edges from sitting around.

They cost $400 USD as they are. Is this a good deal? Also, they are a bit heavy, is this a big problem? Finally, I'm 16 and am 5'9'' (about 175 cm for you metric system users), is this a good ski for me? Im into about 60% park 40% all mtn freeride and like the little bit of pow we get in PA and NY.

400 sounds a little steep. I'd offer 350. Size wise they might be a little small but ehy'd probably work great if you ski mostly park.

you can get a new pair of park skis with bindings for under 400, just look around. Unless you're talking Canada money in which case you're screwed.

yea if you're talking canadian money you have three options.
a)Find some old stock from your local shop and have them drop their pants on the price
b)find skis at a ski swap
or... I hate to say this...
c)get the 1080s

i like my 10s
but tooo much money for them to be used. those scratches on top always come up (from crosses and such) and the bottoms usually dont get too bad. you should be paying like 500 from a NEW pair of last year's.

but yeah, get something else, i dont really like the fujative or PE but whatever's in your budget. ski swaps always work too

1080s are still a great ski regardless of what people on here say. But for $400 you could probably find last years with bindings brand new.
