How kids bully nowadays

This page is something going around my hometown. It's pretty sad that this is the kind of bullying that happens now. I guess this is acceptable these days? Your thoughts NS.

I dunno. Nothing on there targets me directly. I just can't believe that kids are like that. Especially with the suicide rate in my town rising, it seems we are going backwards.

Kinda lame if you ask me, bullying should be about stronger and more socially alpha kids picking on the runts of the class (not disabled or mentally ill). I think it builds solid self esteem for those willing to embrace it. If youre getting picked on, do better or do something about it. A facebook page is just pointless name calling with no one on top.

Im not talking about beating up gay kids in highschool till they kill themselves. Im talking about bullying to build social hierarchy and develop life skills. I think were pussyifing our kids way to much these days, tbh if I have a son or daughter that comes to me as a child and says theyre being bullied I would feel like a failure of a father. I was raised tough and that reflected on my childhood. Going in to school ive always been social as hell, outgoing and earned respect from my peers. To be bullied you have to have low self confidence and not be willing to change what youre doing wrong; if you cant figure that out at a young age theres a good chance itll never change.


Many dont agree with my stance but im just trying to be a real. Animals in nature dont just all sit together and sing songs while patting each other on the back, why should we?

You're opinion is your own, I just think that we are a lot more intelligent than animals in the wild, and there isn't a reason to think being tough means mentally putting other people down. Many people do perform better and gain confidence when they recieve praise and respect. They feel safer and are more willing to push themselves without fear of being publicly ridiculed for who they are.

I'm also not talking about the whole bullying concept, because we've all been exposed to that, I'm talking about this particular page and how over the top and mean it is. Those kids can't do anything about the pictures they post. And many of the captions aren't even true. They are making things up to humiliate them.

But the world isn't the safe, fluffy and encouraging place you're describing, kids will have to deal with a little shit down the road and they need to know how to take it, and not necessarily through a sit down friendship pow-wow. Phil has been explaining everything pretty well.

the fb page didn't work. but cyber bullying is dumb, just block them or get off fucking social media. Go outside and make friends with fun people not people who go out and all they do is talk to other people on their electronic devices.

That would be like a few NSers meeting up to go ski then we just decide were going to go on NS at the top of the hill and post about how awesome the day is and not actually ski. Social media is taking over and it fucking sucks. Kids today are such pussys and too god damn reliant on technology.

It was basically posting pictures of kids. 14 year old girls calling them sluts and guys fags and just shit like that, but 2000 people reading and laughing at them. Enough people got pissed off that Facebook deleted the page. One 13 year old girl that got called a whore and was told to kill herself didn't come to her school yesterday and her parents got the police involved. So there are good people out there willing to stop it.

I also totally agree with you that social media is too much and kids are being pussies on it. Face to face is how it was for me in school. That way if you crossed a line you got hit.

damn thats crazy. all this bullying happens though social media. I wish some social media websites would do the right thing, put money aside and put some kind of age restriction on this shit. Given people can always lie about it and just get by, but if the actual company restricts it maybe the parents will take notice and not allow their kids to have it.

But who am I kidding, this is America where cash is king and nobody gives a fuck as long as you make a buck.

all the cool people that pick on all the nerds and stuff end up doing nothing with their life and end up being at the bottom of the social hierarchy anyways. so having a social hierarchy in higschool is pretty stupid and causes a lot of unecassary conflicy. If people are able to get along throughout highschool then why not

i didnt want to quote the whole thing but man you sound like a TOTAL PIECE OF SHIT with a horribly misconstrued view of how bullying affects kids. not all kids will toughen up or get somehow "stronger" from bullying, but the more common result is that it affects their sociability and confidence for the rest of their young life and in some ways, severely bullied kids will lose a ton of potential they have and grow up to be someone completely different because of these horrible experiences growing up.

i know you just want to sound cool and tough and shit but kids need a certain environment to grow up in and in modern society, kids need to grow up happy and with friends if you want em to come out of the school system as a "normal" person.

try not to be a dick to your kids when you have them. everyone knows that girls with daddy issues grow up to be sluts btw.

Both my parents are straight of the boat from Poland, both of which were raised on farms. If you dont think I was one of the most disciplined kids through out my time in school you are very very mistaken. They way I hear some kids talk to their parents and not get their asses beat with a thick leather belt absolutely blows my mind.


But back to the main point, the world is dog eat dog and if you dont learn that early on youre fucked. I think everyone assumes that schools are dumb jocks beating up smart nerds. I know tons of "bullies" that are top of their class and I know tons of "nerds" at the bottom of their class.

From my personal experiences alpha children are almost always more successful then those who just sit back and take it. Everyone in this thread is entitled to their opinion and im fine with that, im just explaining my view on the topic from my experiences, no need for virtual bitching that im fucked, you big ol' virtual bullies.

Everybody can find a social group. Appearance, body and personality are only things that people use as cruches to blame their problems on. I know tons of people who are ugly, handicap, short/tall, fat/skinny, weird ect that are wildly more popular then kids who are what most would call normal or better. (note I previously also said that disabled and mentally ill kids do not apply to what im saying)


And if you really cant find a group, or you cant conform to one to be accepted.... well thats life. Looks like youve made choices to prevent yourself from reaching your total potential in life. I have no sympathy for people like that and dont think they should have children.

once again this is my own opinion and im allowed to have it.

Sadly the internet has become so integrated into kids lives that it is not just the internet anymore. Some of them care more about how they are perceived online than in real life so it means more. Kids have it all fucking backwards. They all just need to play more kickball.
