I know a lot of you use digital, but does anybody who uses film have their own darkroom? i have a perfect room for it, ive just never developed film before. what do i need, where can i get it and how expensive will it be?
-Dev tank (usually comes with reels)
-A set of graduated pitchers or cylinders (measuring devices that can measure up to 1liter
-light tight chem bottles
-some way of hanging the film to dry
-A thermometer
and this does not include chems, do you want to develop color or black and white
I like to use this bnw developer for all my mid/low speed black and white films (50-400 speed). I have developed delta 3200 in it and it is very grainy, eventually will get something else for higher speed/pushing, but this is a good start
Photographers formulary TF5 (fixer)
You dont need a stop bath chemical when using this fixer, you just use water. Its what i use. It works
kodak photoflo
Use this for the final rinse, it keeps streaks from developing on your film as it drys.
This was the setup I was trying to get back in the fall, but rodinal is so hard to come by in Canada these days. B&H and Freestyle can't ship it across the boarder either....
