Messing around with an intro for a dubstep track.
I haven't even attempted dubstep in so long, usually I just get frustrated doing sound design for the drop.
But.... THIS TIME WILL BE DIFFERENT.

Currently working on an electro house track. About halfway done, then I learned about bussing so I'm going back through and applying that. It's awesome to see how much better it sounds.

I really just skipped through and read the parts I didn't know about, like the voicing and osc pages, and some of the effects section.
The manual is super old though, from like the first version of massive. Some of the names for stuff aren't right, It refers to the double notch filter as the "DNA" filter haha.

Got an awesome little track going right now.
First time I've ever incorporated my own guitar playing into a track, and it turned out pretty well.
Just a little background part but it really contributes to the song. Stoked.

Portfolio for my application to University of Lethbridge in Alberta, for their Digital Audio Arts program!

It actually looks like a fucking sick program, I'm really excited to hopefully go there. But I need to throw together a portfolio REALLY fast.

Some kind of psychedelic track with Alan Watts samples hahaha.
Pretty stoked on how its turning out so far, a lot of the time I just loop stuff and it gets really boring, but I've been avoiding that this time around.

For some reason the lead synth totally overpowers everything else at the beginning...weird because it didn't sound that way before I exported the file. Whatevs, check it out and let me know what you guys think!

@babujib your house is always so house-y haha. Good vibes for sure.

@pinto sick track, nice little cross-genre thing you've got going on there. Really like that fucked up bass sound at 1:00, really cool.

Started work on a 3/4 track yesterday night haha. Don't think I've ever ventured outside the confines of a 4/4 time signature before, very glad I did.

Spending the afternoon making my own percussion sounds out of noises I've recorded around my house.
So far I've got a snare sound that I made out of a camera shutter noise, and a kick that I made by tapping on the cover of a book. Fun stuff.

Its been a month since anyone posted here, what have you guys been up to?

I'm working on learning Max/MSP which is actually a really cool piece of software/programming language. So far all I can do is make a bunch of random notes at a specified tempo, which is kind of neat but completely useless haha. So many possibilities though... You ableton guys should check out Max for Live, I bet you can do some really cool stuff with it.

nice. i would love max for live, but i am too broke to move up to suite :(

I am working on an electro-house/moombahton project called "Goliath". Should be releasing some stuff this winter. Currently crushing out some bootlegs and collaborating with my boy in LA whose project is called BlackGummy.

Sounding really good man! I really like that one. Worth finishing IMO.

Only criticism would be the panning of that one sample/sound to the right, almost makes the left side feel empty at times, but I'm listening on headphones so it probably isn't actually that bad. The embed worked just fine, too. I feel like you could offset that sound panned to the right with another sample, maybe a brass section or something.

Thanks man! It is in fact a little right heavy, so good observation! I haven't really messed with the panning too much yet, I just did some quick pans to create some space to work with. I'm definitely going to get it right once I've got a more finished track.
