Surface no times?

Hey guys, im able to get some surface no times for super cheap, and i want to hear your thoughts on them. I know there are already threads on this, but people say they suck for no particular reason and im curious to hear why

have you owned a pair? im mainly asking for feedback of people who have actually owned them, not people on ns just following the trend and dissing surface

No personal experience but a ton of people had them at my local hill (just surface skis in general) and by now only a few people havent snapped them or had issues with them. All of the others got different skis.

I had a pair as my first park ski. But I eventually needed something with a wider underfoot.

I owned a pair two seasons ago and they snapped in a week. I'm not sure how much changes they have done to strengthen the core or whatever since.

i got them at the beginning of this season. i do pretty much all rails but some small jumps too. i do a lot of tail presses and nose butters but they seem to handle it just fine. surface claimed to have fixed the snapping issue on their 2011 skis.

amen to that, i was going for a lighter ski and the weight difference between anthems and afterbangs is negligible.  no times are 2 lbs lighter than both

Bought a pair of 2012's for this season and been using them on the dails.

Pros:Poppy, fast, stiff, light, earlyrise makes it very had to catch an edge, the edges are pretty durable

Cons:chips so easily, wish they were just a little more buttery

All in all I bought them for $160 on the clymb and most definitely am getting my moneys worth. They honestly don't ever feel like they are going to snap, if you snap these skis you probably land back seat too much/ suck balls.

its about dam time i got a first hand opinion, thats what i wanted to hear.  and i doubt its as easy as people make it out to be to snap a ski

my friend had a pair at the beginning of the season. snapped them within a week of riding them. from what he said surface wouldn't replace them either, just give him some money off a new pair. i don't care how hard you ride a pair of skis they shouldn't snap that easily.

Thats also true, but i dont do jumps bigger than 10 feet, i mainly got them for jibbing

yeah at the time when he had them it was early season in pa, no jumps at all.

How did he break them? If you overflex skis right when you get them theyl snap, you need to soften up the wood so it becomes softer, ie less chance of snapping

^oops, i meant break in the skis by taking it easy on them for a few uses, so it wil then soften them up. same concept as a flexible longboard. its stiff when you get it but becomes flexy

I have skied mine for two seasons with no issues. I grabbed a pair of Blanks now but I still have my no times for urban! They are rad.

it seems to just be the luck of the draw. or it could be what i said, you cant go hard right when you get them, which is the more likely answer, ill probably end up being alright. ill post something if they break or whatever, i doubt they will.

How cheap? If you ski park hard then you got about a year on them, I own a pair as beater skis, they're super light not bad to ride but once the edges go which mine have they're hard to ride, especially on ice
Summary if you can get a new pair for like 175 or less its prolly worth it to you

I just wanted to let you know man in the surface noise thread they explained that the skullcandy collabs and the blue and yellow skis are a year apart. The blue and yellow ones are the improved version you should go for those

update: took them out yesterday. if they wouldve broken, they wouldve broken then because i did a few 180s off some jumps and i pretty much landed straight on the noses. they get my aproval, not to mention theyre super light

whoah its been forever since ive been on here. anyways, still havent snapped, but the topsheet on one of the skis started to come off on the tip. i just glued it back on. like i said awhile ago, for 175 bucks these are sick if youre looking for some really light skis
