What kind of watch do you wear?

I'm thinking about getting a tissot t touch. Swiss made, the minute and hour hands move around when you ask for the date, temperature, altitude and other things. I'd like to have a boss as Rolex but better to save money for drugs. Anybody have a sick ass watch?

i used to be big on nixion about 4 years ago, had 5 one in every color that i wore to match what i had on that day, them things are shit all of them broke and got water in them. i now have a fossil high class shit and i no longer am the d bag with bright colorful watches

I think it's gaudy and something you world wear with Ed Hardy and patterned MMA t-shirts. Doesn't matter though. If you like it that's fair.

I like simplicity and if was spending that kind of money on a watch (even if you got it 50-60% off retail with your discount) I'd spend some time browsing used stuff on watchuseek.

In my humble opinion any money spent on that monstrosity is a sickening waste. Must be nice to now that the movement in your $ 2K watch is a Ronda startech Caliber 5040.B, which is about 20-50$ and features in watches a twentieth of the price of the Oakley.

I don't know how people break nixons. I've broken a few but it was the elastic that didn't last, but standard metal Nixon watches? What the fuck do you do? All parts are made in Switzerland and Japan, the same way higher grade watches are made. To boot the surface of the watches are generally made from sapphire. Next all higher priced watch parts are made from gems so that they never need be replaced, and just last. All metal watches won't wear or change shape with time. The only thing Nixon won't cover on their warranty is basically your battery. Also, all watches with stones in them either use diamonds or Swarovski. I gotta say the only thing I don't like about Nixon watches are the leather bands. Otherwise, be quiet.

Cheap ass watches but I'm a broke student so don't have money for expensive ones and would never wanna wear my Grandads passed down watch or anything because of sentimental value. I'll buy a nice watch when I'm earning some actual money.

Nixon's aren't made in Switzerland or Japan but China, just the movements which vary but are usually pre-assambled Japanese quartz (Miyota) or basic swiss autos from ETA.

They are fashion brand tier not, higher grade tier.

Also you can a find sapphire crystal glass face on any 100 buck Chinese hommage, hardly a selling point, furthermore automatics do not use gems but synthetic sapphire or ruby and pretty much every mechanical watch uses them, again not a Nixon specific selling point.

Again they are a cheaply made, overpriced fashion watches.

I said parts. But that being said, everything you see that's "made in America" for example, only needs 40% of their product to be made in America, and that just constitutes basic assembly.

In the same sad manner defining the term 'Swiss made' has stratified the Swiss watch industry. There is a difference of opinion as to what the term should mean among the owners of the various brands of Swiss watch. The key point is that current law, rather than defining a Swiss watch, defines only a minimum standard.

Today the Swissness of a watch is largely dependent on the brand and its reputation that said almost all actually reputable Swiss watch brands really do produce everything in that tiny xenophobic country.

None right now. I bought a cool looking swatch recently and found out it had a metal bracelet when it arrived I was fucking heated I hate metal bands and won't wear it until I get around to getting a new rubber band. I had a cool rubber D+G watch but my band keeps breaking the day I get it fixed so I guess that ones toast.


So long story short watch prices have gone up and I can't find something cheap I like (Id get a shitty rolex datejust for 2k but not 3) so I need to drop 15,000+ now on a watch because there isn't shit I like for 2-3,000 and 5-10k only gets you a peice of shit.

I want an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver.

My daily is a Seiko 6309 or a GShock DW6900. I don't have an FU $ watch because the Seiko fits all my needs and it just too classic.

I have a few Nixon's; the manual, the rover ss and another... but I haven't worn them since like 11th grade
