So the other day my cousin let me ride his motherships and they were awesome. I am thinking about getting new skis for next season (since i've grown about 5 inches while I've been riding my current skis). Unfortunately, Line stopped making the mothership, so I was wondering if there are any newer skis that are somewhat equivalent. I would love to just buy a pair but they are very hard to find.
here is what I liked about the skis:
1. The stability: I know that some people might say that they are too heavy, but their weight makes them extremely stable at speeds and for big landings
2. The length/stiffness: I guess this ties in with the stability, but it was nice to be able to really attack the mountain and be aggressive.
3. The width: Although skis seem to keep getting wider and wider, the 111mm waist seemed plenty fat to me and let the ski be ridden all mountain with very few limits.
What I'm not sure about: their performance in powder.
While they rode incredibly in slushy, spring-like conditions, I can see where their performance in deep powder could be held back by the massive nearly 6lb/ski weight and minimal rocker.
quick synopsis: I love the ski and am looking for an equivalent that may work better in powder but still has the same hard charging attitude.
