Will a small coreshot allow my skis to get waterlogged ?
Fill it with epoxy, it'll be way more durable than any other home repair and is easy to file to a nice finish. Use a drip candle as a temporary fix if you need to ski them right away.
Even a small core shot can allow water to get in nd expand your core, which could cause delamination. Ptex it at least, you don't want water in there. It's happened to me and it sucks
Unless the damage is next to or touching the edge, or it's march larger than the OP makes it seem, a base weld is overkill. A nice clean ptex drip will do just fine for what sounds like a minor shot.
I've got a 4 inch base gash that turns into about a 1/4" core shot. The tune shop at my local mountain said I needed a full tune and they couldn't do it that day.
The core shot is vertical/parallel with the skis and not near the edges. Is this okay to ski another 3-5 days before my season ends or should I get it fixed ASAP and do I need a full tune or just some ptex?
