Crossing

Does it matter at all which way you cross up for mutes. I personally cross right foot over left foot, and grab with my left hand, but I noticed im magazines, and movies, that most people cross left foot over right and greab with their right hand. I was just thinking that if your spinnign to the right it might be easier to cross left over right so that it goes against the spin.

I cross left over right for my mute grabs, it seems to work well enough for spinning. I don't think it matters too much as long as you set your spin, then grab.

I do all the combinations, depending on which wasy I spin.

There is certainly no 'standard' so do whatever you want. I cross left over right and grab right because it feels comfortable doing it that way. Same with spinning clockwise or counter clockwise, some ppl feel more comfy spinning it one way than the other, and youll see most peeps spinning it counter, but that doesnt mean if you spin the other way it is wierd.

whichever way u cross it depends on which hand u grab with. whatevers comfortable

Just don't try crossinbg your left over your right ski , then spinning to the opposite way. I tried it and it didn't work out too well

If you spin to the left, and you grab right over left, your legs tend to come apart, so i grab right over left.

If you cross like you said and spin to your left thats a reverse mute grab. I think those are Real Stylie.

I think you're supposed to grab with right hand if spinning left. If you grab left handed and spin left that's called an 'opposite hand mute 3' at least the dude on skiingmotion calls it that. They're a bit harder.

Thats how I spin and grab and I don't see why that would be harder. You are pulling the grab in the direction of your spin, so it should be easier. At least I think it is.

Mute grab= grab the ski that is crossed over the other one with the hand that is opposed to the ski you grab.
