The shittiest part about cameras/filming/editing

theres always one more thing you need to buy, then another thing, then another thing. its endless.




its also extremely frustrating trying to get things done filming and skiing wise and people just dont really want to put in the effort to use the glidecam/use the boom/switch lenses/ just getting people to come hit shit is fucking impossible sometimes, or being the only one out of your friends that is somewhat educated about cameras and can film decently fucking blows, the lack of motivation and determination my friends have to make a ski film is insanely frustrating

i love filming. i hate things about it.

1. sacrificing diversity of shots including diff lenses and shooting glidecam and tokina all day to maximize how many shots i get.
2. keeping up with people on follows well and keeping the glidecam super still and hitting the knolls and getting the shot all at the same time is tough
3. people don't always appreciate what you do for them when you're filming them.

This so much. I just bought some shit at the mall yesterday and all i can think is "damn, now I'm another hundred dollars away from getting that 70-200".

I hate when I'm filming biking, and I ask the rider to hike for another shot and they complain.
I mean come on?
I'm not filming with huge pros here, these are guys who could use a sick vid to boost their career, and if you don't to work for the clips, why did you ask to film in the first place?

When you schedule filming w/ a shitload of killer riders and the light is terrible, and you don't have another time to shoot, that rustles my jimmies.

Dude I shoot biking as well and trust me all riders complain regardless of status. I have had World Champion DH riders complain about hiking for another shot... Its annoying as hell!

When riders dont understand the work that goes into an edit. Thats the worst. Also, i hate when riders take forever to land a trick. Im not talking 10 hits. I mean like 2 hours for 1 shot in the park. Urban would be a completely different story.

I actually kinda of like that, you can create a story with the progression of the rider though that 1-2hours. But another thing I hate is when all the middle schoolers consistently come up to asking them to make an edit for them thinking that it takes 2 seconds. No I WILL NOT!

Yeah.... Progression of a rider... (ex. having a few shots of the rider falling followed by the rider getting the trick and everyone cheering)

I guess the most annoying part for me is that while all last year I was the "designated" filmer, I was also the one out of all my friends with the biggest bag of tricks. It became a constant struggle to progress my own skill, while also filming friends, while trying to get my own shots. You can imagine how difficult that is, luckily this year my other friend is getting into filming and is the best person for the job. As of right now I'm passing down my knowledge to him and doing some light editing.

Well if its a dope trick, people are gonna cheer either way. I mean, its not bad when people take 10-15 hits to land a trick, but sometimes its rediculous.

sacrificing skiing for filming/never being in edits. I am the only one of my friends at school or home that can set proper focus/exposure with decent composition, don't even get me started on glidecam. I always end up filiming more/skiing less on park days, and then when my non skier friends see edits or clips (I know I haven't uploaded in a long time), they ask why I'm not in them haha. Kind of a vicious cycle, but it should change soon. Hoping to do more summer skiing and I have a friend who wants to get into filming and potentially buy some gear from me, so I guess that's progress

or even just forgetting.

my glidecam uses a different screw so i can tighten it more, but one day i forgot the screwdriver and was fucked and couldn't shoot with the glidecam.
