From what I know, people who are born and live in the UAE get paid to live there. They get enough money to live their whole lives without working, because the UAE want them to stay, and because they have so much money from oil.

I think UAE always has a significant surplus, and since the nation is so small it is easy for them to distribute pretty substantial checks from that surplus to their citizens. I think I read that somewhere anyway, I could be wrong.

This is a major misconception about Arabs. The reality is not all Arabs are rich and the rich ones are in fact the rulers such as the Kings and Emirs of the Arab countries bordering the Persian Gulf or other people in high places. The majority isn't really that rich at all.
