My truck has a 4 inch lift and that's enough for me. Id never keep my truck stock height for long after this one. Having a slight lift has saved my ass many times.
Or just drive according to the road conditions like a responsible person. Also, you don't need a lifted truck to pull a car out of ditch. A normal, more practical truck will do just fine.
Everyone shut the fuck up. This wasnt to start a car debate.I should of said "Fuck this driver" but the car would not of made it over that curb if it wasnt lifted. On a similar note, EVERY (no exaggeration) person i know that drives some oversized lifted truck that gets 8mpg has been a shitty driver. No exceptions. You guys are a bunch of arrogant fuck heads. My fwd Jeta with blizzaks can driver better in the snow than your stupid ass truck. The day you pull 18 b 52s for work is the day i stop thinking you guys are assholes. Sure driving a fast lowered car is just as pointless as having a truck that can pull 1000 tons and drive through moab, but atleast i get good gas mileage.
BTW, you just sounded like a total dumbass. Here are a few things you need to get straight, any fucking truck can drive over a curb. It doesn't matter if it is at stock height or lifted. Jumping a curb is easy as fuck when you have tires that have some nice fuckin girth to them. Besides, what women doesn't fucking love girth? Thats besides the point... I drove a truck with a 4" suspension lift and oversized tires and still got 20+ MPG; so fuck off if you're going to try to tell me over sized trucks guzzle gas at 8 mpg. And the size of the truck doesn't effect a persons driving skills. Do you not understand how much practice it takes to skillfully drive a big truck? And park it in small parking spaces and shit? I'll drive over your shitty fucking nazi volkswagen any day and then continue to drive up a snowy mountain while towing all those shitty little rice burners. Truck tires probably cost more than your whole life. Watch who the fuck you call a "arrogant fuck head" because you're sounding pretty cocky over there, Mr. Jetta. Take your hypocrisy elsewhere douche.
just for the record. in countries with a, lets call it, higher overall awareness for environmental issues, anything under 60-70 MPG isnt mentioned in a TV ad.
Oh my hell I honestly hate parking my truck sometimes. By the time i manage to get into the parking spot, I have 0.00001 inches of space to open my door on each side and the bed of the truck is hanging out 4 feet past every other car.
Needless to say, university parking lots are not full size truck friendly...
I love how you went off on this guy and pretty much said the exact same thing he did. Its just as hard to drive a low, low car as it is a big truck; if not harder. You could have bought a smaller vehicle and I could have not lowered my car as much, but we both did it. It goes both ways. And don't even bring up cost haha, most properly done cars (ignore the shitty ricers) have wheels and tires that cost more than your lifted truck on 22" Rockstars.
Thank you!
I kind of went off last night. I really should just leave with "To each there own"
Mitsubishi evo's and subarus for example can more than likely handle better in the snow than any truck. a good 4wd system + good traction control can do wonders.
And i was more pissed about him hitting the rabbit pickup TRUCK than the wrx. That can not be replaced.
As the owner of two AWD "sports cars," including a Subaru, and the former owner of a Toyota SUV, kindly fuck off with this nonsense before you embarrass yourself any further. AWD isn't some magic wizard potion that makes cars handle the snow like I handled your mother last night, and you clearly don't have much experience driving.
although as an awd owner and occasional tacoma driver, driving a truck in the snow in rwd with no weight in the back is fucking terrifying. although ive come much closer to actual harm getting too confident in the awd. it all rests on the human factor
Are you a fucking illiterate or just ignorant? ALL WHEEL DRIVE + A GOOD TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM. THE MORE YOU QUOTE OF CONTEXT THE MORE YOU LOOK LIKE A STUPID MOTHERFUCKER.
Now why dont you just go right ahead and drive your illiterate ass off a cliff in a oversized truck towing your daddies two sports cars :)
You said an Evo/STI will outperform "just about any truck" in the snow, which is so ridiculously false it's hilarious. Like I said earlier, a fancy AWD system isn't magic. An STI, even with snow tires, isn't really all that great in the snow. Sure, it's fun to do some high speed donuts/powerslides in an empty parking lot, but the stiff suspension and low ride height aren't exactly ideal for any sort of real heavy weather driving. You'll understand this when you're older than 15.
...and for the record, my daddy only bought my STI. The R32 is alllll mine.
I agree on all accounts, but to say an sti with snow tires "isnt that great in the snow" is kinda ridiculous. Yes an sti isnt gods gift to earth for travel in the snow and there are plenty of more capable trucks.. but anything awd sure as hell beats the shit out of any car with fwd or rwd in the snow, which is most cars.
Yeah, I guess that was a bit of an exaggeration, but after driving an FJ Cruiser for 4 years, taking the STI out on even the lightest snow day felt like driving on pure ice.
Ya sound like a bit of a douche there bud. What the hell is wrong with a car show? IMO it's a hell of a lot better than guys who lift there trucks because they are compensating for something and never take them off roading anyway.
