First set of twin tips

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some advice on buying my first set of twin tips so hope someone can help.

These will be mainly used for park as its what I'm looking to get into. I have been recommended the K2 press and the 2013 rossignol scratch since this is basically what they had in stock :)

I'm 23, weighing roughly 12st 8lbs and 6ft tall.

What skis would you recommend for a good piste skier looking to get into park for the first time ideally want them to last me when I move past a beginner and onto more intermediate stuff. Are the two skis recommended worth looking at or should I look at something else.....

Sorry if you feel like your spoon feeding just want to get things right and that won't happen usibg my own limited knowledge!

K2 Sight, Line Mastermind, Line Chronic (bit more advanced), Armada El Ray, the list goes on. It's all about what you want, and price range/accessibility, etc.

Armada El Rey's with Marker Griffon bindings mounted 1 or 2 cm back from center sound good for you. I would suggest about 170 to 180 cm, probably somewhere in the middle. That will be a great starting setup for you.

Hi Guys,

I dont really have a Price limit but obviously want to get a decent bang for my buck. I will be buying a set of full tilts to go with these aswell but these ski's are going to be park only Rails and Jumps.

As a rough estimate would probably only want to spend around £500-£600 Max on a set of first Twin Tips and Bindings. Just not sure what exactly to go for some people say go stiffer some people say go with more flex.

Obviously when i say primarily for Park there will be some piste skiing in there. But for days were i dont intend on spending the majority of the day in the Park i have a awesome pair of piste skis.

As you are from the UK, I would suggest looking at the following websites for more ideas:

I would not suggest going to/looking at Snow and Rock or Ellis Brigham as they never really have a "decent" selection.

As for a choice on skis, the K2 Press is more of a price point ski like the Line Afterbang, but don't be put of by this as for what they are, they are a decent ski.

Personally I'd go for either the Atomic Punx, Armada AR7, K2 Domain or the Line Chronic.

Based on the recommendations above i was maybe thinking about the following order.

Armarda AR7's
Full Tilt Level 1's
Marker Griffon or Marker Jester Bindings

Any thoughts?

If you aren't worried about money go for it man! But you could easily get by with some more 'beginner' gear. The ar7's are fairly stiff so make sure you know what you're buying. If you want some softer skis the T halls are the exact same shape just softer. Have fun and good luck on your park career! Stoked for you

Cheers for the reply dude.

With the ski's im basically trying to avoid going out and buying a beginner ski and then having to replace it next season with something better which will cost me a fortune anyways.

I was a little worried about the stiffness on the AR7's especially being a complete beginner when it comes to park. Not sure how forgiving they will be when learning.

do full tilts fit your feet? get professionally fitted and get the boot that works best for you. it will make a huge difference

Ye mate.

Was fitted in them last week. Would never go out and buy a ski boot without being fitted took me long enough to find my first and second set :)

Basically been holding out on the orders until i can find a group thats going skiing this season to avoid single sup payments since the family cant ski this year and not of my mates like the sport haha.

ON3P Billy Goat is a great choice, its a little wider than 115 underfoot in the larger sizes and the turn radius is a little more, but its incredibly fun from other reviews I've heard about. No one seems to dislike it.

As you live in europe, check out sport-conrad.com they have prices you think they're fake, but they are not!

i got this years kung fujas with marker griffons for 320€ + shipping and they were here the next week, amazing website!

AR7 are literally the funnest ski ive ever ridden, the rippp up groomers and still perform perfect in the park, so you can still shread any trail.

The ar7s would be an great ski for you if you want a stiffer ski. if you want a more flexible ski i'd go with the K2 Domains. your choice of binding and boot sounds great. and i would recommend not getting the line masterminds..ive heard of multiple people breaking them
