I feel horrible for not knowing this but what is going on?

Olympics after WWII? First black man from USA to get gold and he beat Germany which is why that guy behind him is going the heil hitler move? I know I could just google it but I would rather have NS explain it to me.

1936 Germany. Jesse Owens is the African-American guy on the top of the podium. He went to compete for the USA in and against a country that was nothing but ruthless to black people (similar to how they were to Jews) and proved a point by winning 3 or 4 golds. although it's kind of ironic in a way since the country he was competing for was almost just as terrible to blacks at that time and not very many years earlier was probably worse to blacks than Germany every was.

When michael phelp won his i think 7th medal at Beijing in the relay. Remember watching this and they won by the narrowest margin in history. Gives me chills thinking about it.
