This might be a noob question, but do the uploaders get a portion of the profit earned from the videos they upload with ads, like on youtube, etc. Just curious...

I am 80% sure that the uploaders get a portion of the profit if an advertisement is used on their video. The other 20% is me thinking maybe Youtube could force ads on a video without paying the uploader because *insert legal reason*

Yes, some of them do. You need to pass certain milestones and qualify for our top-tier producer program, but once you do that you get into revshare and make money off of those views.
We've been slowly expanding the program. It pays proportionally drastically better than YouTube does so its a great option for people producing ski content.
As the success builds so will the number of available spots.

Yeah, its kinda of like that on Youtube I think. Its not very easy to make money from it, you really have to work at it.

The main reason is that internet advertising doesn't generate as much revenue as people think. You have to get massive quantities of views in order for it to really make much of anything.
I think on YouTube people make like $1 per 1,000 ad displays, and ads don't display on every view.
