Gamechanger: new metabones adapter for sony e-mount

I'm sure it won't be perfect, ie people will say you lose the advantage of only using a center crop of a lens, or the glass isn't perfect, but I think it looks really cool and useful. Hopefully they bring it to m43

Damn, that's pretty cool in theory, hopefully it works just as well. Also, expect this to cost an arm and a leg and be a pain in the ass to get when it first comes out.

or just expensive canon lenses. My mom has a 70-200 f2.8 which I would not mind "borrowing" and if I could get the same range and look on my gh2 as I do on her camera, it would be really cool. I don't expect it to be cheap or perfect though, but for some people this could be very useful, especially with an m43 version

That's a very strange comment, I think the opposite myself..

But yeah, this is pretty sick in theory, almost seems too good. And this probably will not sell very well if it's expensive. The only people i could see buying it are people like me with an aps-c sensor camera and want to have the versatile focal lengths for their full frame compatible lenses. So naturally that's kind of a cheapo thing, like filters for use of legacy glass on a dslr. Anybody wanting the advantages this presents who is willing to spend money already has a full frame camera. Possibilities for m4/3 could be pretty awesome, though.

Bringing this back to life just to see if anyone has had any hands on experience with this.

I'm seriously debating getting one.

this+nikon mount 11-16 seems like a better idea to me than the Panasonic 7-14mm.

a nikon-m43 speedbooster and an 11-16 is roughly the same cost as a panny 7-14.

Panasonic 7-14's only advantages are width(14-28mm) and weight(think it's like 10 ounces)

but the 11-16 is a (15.62-22.72mm) weighing in at near 30 ounces IIRC(inc speedbooster)

there's of course the huge advantage of it being f2(with booster) vs the f4 of the panasonic, so it really comes down to weight, speed and image quality(haven't seen comparisons but I hear the 7-14 is an amazing lens, and I know the 11-16 is, I'm just not sure what effect the speedbooster has on it.

Of course there's the other advantage of having a speedbooster, so you could adapt a 35mm f/1.4 to get a 49.7mm f/1.0

I was actually thinkin about it yesterday(not thinking about buynig one) and I thought to myself, do I really need lenses that fast often? and for me the answers of course no. I can get by with f/1.7.

I got it today, I quickly tried it out. Its so nice, im so happy, my 11-16 is now wider then when it was on my 60d mad stoked! No vignette at 11 which is awesome!
