Powder skis?

so i have a trip to Utah planned for Feb, these are my current skis: Volkl Bridge (2010)

  • Rocker Type: Camber
  • Tip Width (mm): 130
  • Waist Width (mm): 92
  • Tail Width (mm): 112
i've never taken them out west and the only powder day they have seen was a few weeks back in VT which was around 20 inches with no big snow before it, so my question is will these hold up in some deep pow or should i bite the bullet and rent fat skis for the week? i'm going to snowbasin/powder mountain and plan on cat skiing

If there's snow, why not rent something bigger?

money is obviously a factor, i'm coming from CT so it's not cheap, the more money i can avoid spending the better obviously but if i have to spend more for a better time then i will, know what i mean?

If it dumps, then I would say get bigger skis, especially for cat skiing at PowMow. Because it will be a noticeable difference, and you'll be thankful you did. But if its not balls deep, you'll still be able to have a ton of fun on the Bridges

If you're going to be cat skiing I'd just drop the £££ and rent for the day. If you're concerned about the cash, just rent for the cat days, around the resort the bridges will handle fine. Not saying you won't be able to ski the bridges on cat days, just if you're paying however much for the cat, you may as well drop a bit more to enjoy it even more.

Ski at powder mountain every day. its only like 22 bucks for a cat pass. I go up everyday so if you need someone to show you around ill be happy to

i didn't say it wasn't a big dump, obviously for the lack of snow we had out here last year 20 inches is the biggest dump we've seen in close to 2 years, there is just nothing else under it, so blown around and skied off it ends up skiing like 10, even in the woods with it being so early in the season there's a risk of slicing up your skis and no one wants that the first week of the season
