The death flu

I've been sick since the day after new years. Don't my best to fight it but I was outside a bunch on the hill building stuff. Everything just got taken to a hole new level.


Projectile vomiting/ dry heaving. Anyone else dying out there?

I had it. Couldn't move for a week. Everything hurt. It hurt just if someone touched my head. Fuckin sucked. Get better soon OP

Well, the good (bad?) news is that if you're constantly puking and feel nauseous, you probably don't have the flu, just a nasty stomach virus.

Idk, that's just the new stuff.

Had shit in my lungs nose head and a gnarly fever off and on for almost 2 weeks.


I usually lump everything bad together into the "wook flu". Decided there aren't wooks on ns so just made it the death flu.


Honestly don't know the diagnosis but I'm sick as fuck

The one I had is a virus that is going around. It's rank and from what I've seen attacks everything. My friends mom had it and she had to go to the hospital because it went into her spinal fluid. It's a really bad virus.

To everyone who hasn't gotten it yet, GET A FLU SHOT! Shots suck but man up, getting sick is worse. There are countless places where you can get one for free, regardless of medical insurance. I go to school in Boston where the outbreak is one of the worst in the country and it was as simple as walking a hundred yards from my dorm and telling the desk lady I want a flu shot. No questions asked, I filled out a waiver and allergy sheet and was vaccinated in 5 minutes. I'm just hoping I got it early enough to protect me, because time IS of the essence here and the death tolls close around me ARE rising.

As much as we all grew up and got the flu once a year or every other year and are used to just waiting it out and not being a bitch (I was that guy...) when something is given to you for free that can save you several days of sickness and maybe even a life, TAKE IT.

People who go to the doctors when they have a cold or a fever are some of my favorite people. I envy their ability to tie up a doctor's time that could be used for something more productive than telling idiots to drink liquid and rest.

I have had off and on colds for two and a half weeks once I start to get over one I get another one its so fucked my tolerance to bedtime medicine has risen so damn I that I need two to three shots of medicine to get a goodnights sleep.

I too had the death flu, although I think I'm on the mend.
It was fucking terrible, lasted over a week. So nauseous all the time, projectile vomiting, a slight fever, extreme fatigue, chills. They said I got the stomach flu, but it lasted a lot longer, and had a cough and runny nose. Shit is terrible, I'm still dealing with the stomach problems from it still, but feel pretty good. Lost 10 pounds from it.

Good luck, pretty much rest as much as possible, drink a shit ton of water, and drink pedialyte (as weird as that sound the electrolytes do wonders without the extra sugar) or gatorade. And just try to sleep a ton. Netflix will now become your best friend.

Most of what people term the "stomach flu" is really gastroenteritis (usually) caused by a norovirus (or other similar virus) and is not a form of influenza.

noroviruses are difficult to study because they cannot be "grown" outside of the human body and infecting someone with it for study would not be ethical.

Usually only last 1-2 days, sucks that you've had it longer.

I got sick friday + saturday night.
friday was from partying too hard, then saturday was from a weird reaction to drugs. I yakked a few times real quick to get it out of the system.

Now I'm scared because I still don't feel great and its Monday. i think its the caids

It was worth it. It just sucks now.


Was ballin out on pedialyte. Made it to the downstairs couch and kicked it there for 3 and a half ours with no puking. I just sipped the pedialyte real slow and fought puking it up. I got up to get an advil and some water and exorcist splattered the wall in the bathroom. I'll clean it up later.


Fever spiked hard last night and now it's climbing again. Pedialyte really does work wonders though. That shit is a fucking gift.

I don't believe in the flu shot. I think it's all hype. I've actually done better at not getting sick than people I know you get the flu shot every year.

Influenza is an RNA virus, meaning that the mechanics of its replication are more apt for genetic mutation than DNA viruses (HIV is an RNA virus as well).

The pre-planning and ramp-up in production required to create the flu shot means that the known viruses used to create it are already months old by the time you receive the vaccine. So there's still a chance the virus has since mutated and your vaccine boosted immunity will not have the antibodies to fight it (meaning you still get sick).

I still believe the vaccine is worth it, benefits > risks, however it's not a guarantee you will be immune from the flu.
