What do u think of windells?

This summer im looking at going to windells and I am wondering is it really worth the 2 grand for 5 days? and also how good the camp is and do u learn a lot?? +k for anyone that helps

MHSSC is better for learning. Windells is generally filled with more douches, I've heard. Inb4 repost.

went when i was 16, it was a good time. you will only learn as much as you push yourself to learn, no matter what camp you go to

yea dude it was fun! and now they have way more stuff at the camp (dry slopes/airbags) when i went they didnt even have an on snow airbag haha but it was still pretty awesome

Windells is alright from what I have heard.. If you want a camp to remember sans: douches, long drives to the mountain, lame accommodations, not so great food. Then come to Momentum and particularly session 3... You will not regret your decision. It is a bit more expensive but then again its 4 days longer than windells. You stay in a nice hotel right in whistler village with sauna, pool, hot tub. You have a nice room with everything you need and stay with 3 homies that you are great friends as soon as you get there. Everyone is always partying. The night before the day off it goes off and gets crazy quick. The park is amazing, and the jumps particularly are incredible. Nothing beats the 80 foot step up. Activities are sick. I went tramping with Bpaul, Played some soccer on a team with Woodsy, Hit up the lost lake ropeswing with Schlopy and Bushy. Food is great as you eat out at a nice restaurant in whistler village every night! The place is amazing and the experience is as good as the skiing and is worth every penny.

Just thinking, what if I threw in Woodward at Copper? Anyone had experience with that?

Will take that into consideration but whisler is a ways away and windells is really close to me considering i live in portland but +k to you i will definatly look more into momentum
and why session 3? is that the best time to go?

windells would be pointless for you because you could ski hood anyway. save ur money and and buy a summer pass

if he does live in portland, than that changes everything, windells is not worth it if you already could ski all summer anyway

true but the puplic park sucks up there and i would learn a lot more at a camp then by myself plus a camp would be a lot funner

not true i skied public all summer had had tons of fun. Just make friends with some people up there because every day there is like the same crews of people skiing. the only time public sucks is late summer when it melts out and u cant ski all the way down.

Heh, the public jump setup last summer was quite a step down from the years before it. That's for sure. But you still could have learned plenty on the rails--that setup was still sick.
People keep saying you should just get a pass and go up a bunch, but a.) you don't seem old enough to drive yourself and I doubt your parents want to, and b.) camp can be a really fun experience for its own sake.
I wouldn't recommend Windell's though, simply because I don't think it's worth your time. MHSSC is closer, and costs half, for the same basic experience, just minus a few frills. I don't know your parents, but I know that most people's parents would probably be way more willing to do additional day trips if they didn't pay as much for camp.

Windells is pure amazing. People who said ive "heard there were douchbags" are wrong. When i went everyone was chill, fun to hangout with, i had a great time. There was nothing i didnt like. Dont listen to people who havent been there. Its amazing, if your thinking about going. GO!

Woodward is sick, not the best park but they have the barn with awesome olympic tramps and a super tramp, plus a dry slope foam pit and jib park.

I also went to COC and it was super chill and the park is sick. Basically you are given a place to stay, a place to ski, and you can do whatever you want otherwise. Never been to Momentum, but i saw the park and its a bit smaller, but with that guy saying how the hotel has a hot tub and pool, I'm reconsidering. Anyone been to both COC and Momentum? Which did you like better?

So I have never been a camper at windells. But I live pretty close and I am always attending there open skate sessions on Saturdays.

1. Most likely there will be a mix of campers from male to females staying with you. They seam to have a variety of campers.

2nd When I attend there open skate sessions it is defiantly so much fun. There indoor skate park is awesome. The trampolines are really fun too. I wish they had a little more area for the trampolines considering there are only 2 tramps and 1 foam pit. Which you have to share with the incoming bikers/skateboarders. The outdoors skate park is also alot of fun as well as the dry slope until you fall on it. One good dry slope burn and you will be done for the day. There are also dirt trails and jumps for bikers.

With the awesome parks and recreation you will most likely have an amazing time if you do attend. Also being able to meet new people and go ride at Mt. Hood. Windells also has sponsors who attend the camp during that session. They usually bring there riders and a whole ton of gear to give out and for campers to earn in games.

If I had the money laying around to go. I would not hesitate at all.


And also to address the other post on the thread.

There is really no "douche bags" mainly just kids come to have fun. I haven't had any bad experience from any douche bags but that's just my experience.

Also like Jwess posted also there will be a TON of pros on the mountain with you shredding and coaching at Windells private park. There private park is awesome and may not be as great as whistlers park but still its a fun park. And you will be doing a ton of other events back at windells with the pros. Like games, tramp sessions, competition etc.

But really if you live close to windells. I really wouldn't suggest it. But that in my opinion.

Honestly I think windells is a wee bit overrated. The setup was real weak when I went to session 4 two years ago. I honestly had more fun lapping T-lines public park more than the windells lane. I'm sure it's different now but I wasn't too sold on it when I went.
