this is very true in all aspects of life
in soccer we used to do this drill where two players were somewhat stationary, they could move left and right but not forward and backward. a third player tried to dribble down the alleyway, through the first defender, then through the second.
if you made it past the first, you became more confident (especially if you put a sick move on him), and then you were SO much more likely to make it past the second. it was crazy. nearly everytime the player with the ball would go 0 for 2 or 2 for 2.
that being said, when im in a jump line and trying something new, i spin some smooth fucking threes as i approach the jump that i'm gonna send a new trick off of. it builds your confidence.
