Your place shouldn't be greasy if he has a range hood and what kind of meat is he cooking on the stove top anyway, ground beef?
Like you said, your roommate before was fine because she cleaned up properly, so I think what you mean is that you don't want to live with assholes like your current baking-sheet elitist roommate anymore.
I don't know too many. But I have a good friend who is a vegetarian. Thank the lord she's not a vegan because the vegetarianism is bad enough already.
I really had to go out of my way to have her as a bridesmaid at my wedding. I had a vegetarian lasagna prepared for the rehearsal dinner only for her, she was the only vegetarian-- so kind of a lot of effort/money & waste. Then at the wedding I had a vegetarian option pretty much for only her, I think she was the only guest out of 200+ that were vegetarian.
At my bridal shower, which isn't even hosted by me, I'm a guest. I brought veggie burgers because I knew the hosts wouldn't know to have something for her.
When I have dinner parties or have people over for appetizers and cocktails before going out or something, I always do vegetarian egg rolls or something else for her.
If I don't do these things, she looks at the food and mopes and says "i cant have this im a vegetarian" and then she'll ask what else i have.
I just think maybe vegans and vegetarians should start carrying ice chests around with food in it so the burden isn't placed on the host to accomodate every diet. Especially when it's just one person in a large group.
At least she was willing to wear the leather shoes and dress with leather detailing as a bridesmaid.
you are both correct!

I'm from Seattle.
And I don't know what you're talking about here (reply above)-- it's the other way around. All but one dish are usually not vegetarian.
most appetizers I can think of are not vegetarian: smoked salmon, sushi, crab cakes, beef tips, chicken skewers, prawns, deviled eggs (could be considered vegetarian but not if they err on the side of vegan with no eggs/mayo), bacon wrapped anything, scallops
I guess some vegetarians eat seafood though
but isn't caesar salad basically the most common/popular salad to have at a buffet style dinner-- they wont eat it because it had anchovies in the dressing and often times it has chicken in it. For vegans it has: mayo, anchovies, egg, cheese, sometimes chicken...
other common dishes are pasta salads which often times have chicken, bacon, egg or mayo.
scalloped potatoes are common and often have bacon or ham and for vegans they are covered in cheese.
how is this possible? Can some other NSers chime in here, chicken caesars are ridiculously common. This comment is seriously a shock to me.
