I can honestly tell you that it is not the same idea. this movie shows how they found UBL from the time of the 9/11 to when he was shot. its honestly one of the best movies ive ever seen
It gave the background and intelligence side of killing OBL from the CIA standpoint, which is what i expected. I liked it but i dont need to see it again.
Sick movie, action scenes were so spot on, as was everything else. Interesting to see how it happened from a different standpoint. Only criticism is it was a little long.
If you watch it backwards, its a magical tale of soldiers reviving a middle-eastern man. And him doing what it takes to build the Twin Towers.
#binladenmovieGo
i wont be seeing it. i mean it happened like a year ago and there is already a movie about it. hollywood will capitalize on anything they can. also i dont support the "war on terror" so im not going to give them my money to watch this movie. and several others I have talked to feel the same way.
however im sure it is a good movie with great acting and cinematography. i have only heard good reviews. I just dont wish to see it personally. would much rather see lincoln.
Havnt seen it and dont want to see it, most of the men who supposedly killed osama are all dead from that helicopter crash, what a suprise. im not 100% sure but im pretty sure a couple committed suicide as well. but i think its fucked up that they made a movie about this, and went and said it was based after a true story that never happend. #Typical'Merica
I'm going to see it tonight, but in advance I'll guess there is plenty of thematic extra that is not factual. No Easy Day would be about as factual as you could get I think, as it's written by the guy who actually shot UBL (the second time anyway).
Actually Zero Dark Thirty was under development for a decade, and was planned to just be a movie about the hunt for Bin Laden and some of the early conflicts after 9/11. When Bin Laden died they had to radically change everything. They didn't just write the film after his death, it was in the works long before. And what do you mean by "them?" The government didn't make the movie. You're not actually supporting the war by going. The film's decidedly neutral in that regard, it's not some sort of Fuck Yeah America movie that the marketing has made it out to be. You might even walk out of the film thinking it was anti-war.
There is a slight anti-war tinge to the movie but I think its great. And all the liberals gettin their panties in a twist over the torture assumptions need to chill the fuck out. Its going to happen. You want to be safe? Welcome to our methods.
It was very well done, great film. I was pleasantly surprised by how much of the movie was about the search rather than the mission to capture/kill UBL and the acting was better than I was expecting.
this is so wrong. 1. nobody died in the helicopter crash, it was a soft landing crash. 2. The movie has been in production for a long time, they just changed it to include the death of osama. 3. most of the movie is factually accurate (which surprised me). 4. The movie is not a "fuck yeah america" movie, it's actually kind of depressing and in no way glorifies the actions of our government. Get educated before you write something off.
The Hurt Locker is extremely unrealistic and silly in ways. Even though it's entertaining, it's hard to get over some of the dumb stuff he does in the movie that is 100% against what EOD practices.
well he is actually correct to a point. I dont think he is talking about the soft landing crash during the raid. Insurgents shot down a U.S. military helicopter some time after the raid, killing 30 americans. Most of those Americans were part of Seal team 6, the same ones that took down Bin laden. ..... CONSPIRACY, THE GOVERNMENT DID IT
i don't know how anybody liked that movie it was complete shit, if i wasn't with my friends at the theatre i would of left half way through. How they tried to make you feel sorry for the main characters having to torture at the beginning made me sick. People who walk a half naked man around a room with collar before shoving him into a box should never be treated as hero. The main girl pissed me off so much as well, Hey look at me im girl doing a job men usually do but that's not gonna stop me, i will just swear and be really cold all the time to show that i am just as tough as them!
People like you are why Hollywood pumps out so much shit every year. You missed the entire fucking point of the film. The protagonist of a film is not inherently a hero. They weren't trying to make you feel sorry for her at the beginning, it's the basis for her character's arc. She starts out hard-working yet relatively innocent to the harsher realities of intelligence work, so she struggles with the brutality of torture. Throughout the film, she slowly loses her own humanity over her obsession with capturing Bin Laden. She goes from being uncomfortable around torture to doing the torturing. She pins everything on Bin Laden, hoping he will right all the wrongs. That's why she breaks down in the end, at the realization that Bin Laden is just a man, and that his execution didn't really fix anything at all.
