What are modifications for cars that help with fuel economy? Intakes, chips, whatever, tell me what has worked for you guys! And I'm not going to drive more reserved, where's the fun in that. +K for helpful comments like usual.
right, but if you always rev low with a high compression engine it can cause build up. I'm just saying that shifting at 3 k can be a good little guideline because it keeps things regular. Like I said my car runs super rich up here at 8000 feet. The reason is because it has a bad cap on the fuel pump, causing an uneven pressure at altitude. I just haven't had the money or been able to fine a cap that fits out here. No one has saabs in the eastern sierra unfortunately.
For the most part thats false, high compression always makes everything seal better above 2500 rpm with most engines that rev over 5. The way the cam and crank are designed, that range just provides better combustion.
lugging it can kill your mileage cause it can not fully burn your fuel and its just not effficent. you gotta find your cars "happy spot..."to get good mileage.
