my dad make to this expert ski class but i can do 540 360 270 out and in and the skiers are 11 year olds and they never go to the park i all ready made a fake email and email adress. so wondering how to get out now.
Why don't you take the ski class and learn to ski out of the park too. Just because you can 540 doesn't mean you are a good skier, your dad is probably right about having you having to take a lesson
I would be thrilled to work with a skiing coach if I was in your position. The worst thing that happens is that you get better at skiing in general which will definitely make you better at park.
Just go into with a positive attitude and try to get something out of it. I have been focusing strictly skiing (not park) for most of my winter break and my first few laps back in the park, I greased 3 new tricks that I had been struggling with. I was literally shocked on how much it helped. Plus it'll be kinda fun to have the littler ones look up to during the lessons.
Seriously, learn the proper form of skiing. I didn't learn until this year and it has made me SO MUCH better at skiing. I never was a bad skier by any means, but you'll be amazed at how much more enjoyable skiing is once you learn "formal" technique from someone who knows it
cut the kid some slack. No one wants to spend all day with a lame ski group. If he can hang out with buddies in the park and maybe do some all mountain himself he'll be better off.
Better yet convince your dad to let you do a half day or something and ski park half the day.
This makes me angry. Incredibly disrespectful that you'd cut out of a class that your dad is paying money for. I see so many kids who are pizza-ing their way to the park, doing little tricks, then thinking they are fucking amazing skiers. No. take advantage of the fact that you're lucky enough to have a dad that signs you up for a lesson, go get better at real skiing, go back to the park and see if it doesn't make you a better park skier.
who drives you to the mountain and buys all your ski gear and your lift tickets, your dad.
a 14 year old with a happy dad you went to a safety class with=more skiing
a 14 year old with a pissed off dad because you didn't go to a safety class=less skiing
Most people do. However, in the long run ski school pays off. There's a good reason that guys like Seth Morrison, or Sage Catabriga-Alosa (sp) don't snowplow down steep AK spines, Even if you are not a big mountain skier, ski school will greatly improve your skills in and out of the park...if you go in with a positive atittude.
