"Their dog was mistakenly euthanized in 2009 despite the shelter placing a hold tag on Avery after the family came to claim her at the shelter, but was unable to immediately pay an $80 fee to get her back. When the family returned with the cash, they learned Avery had been put down."

Basically the dog ran away, they went to pick it up from the shelter, but they didn't have the $80 to pick him up. The shelter placed a hold on it that they were coming back. They came back the next day with the $80 and the dog had been killed.

If that happened to my dog I would freak out. My dog just passed and if I knew someone put her down before her time they would have hell to pay.

I guess it all depends on how they label it. IS it an accident like somebody hitting a dog in the road? Or was somebody being negligent and dropping the ball hardcore. And even then are they deserving of money the way the laws are set up.


But on the main thing it was fucked on the part of the shelter. Somebody tells you they're coming back the next day because they didn't have enough money, they come back the next day and you killed their fucking dog? Weaksauce.

Fucking trash piece of shit humane society. It's fucking doggy auschwits and they kill dogs everyday instead of releasing them onto the streets to have a shot at life. Fucking public safety cocksucking assholes who think "it's not safe" to have stray dogs like they have in most countries in the world. Just let them go. If they die on the streets at least they had a shot to live a full life. Fuck the humane society in the ass. If my dog got out down I would roll into the shelter with a fucking baseball bat. Sorry. This story pissed me off

yea I mean, I have a cat and she's awesome and I love her to death. In fact she's asleep on my lap right now. But the truth is that if she were to die, I'd be broken up and sad for awhile, but then I'd probably get a kitten and would be happy again. (granted every cat from now on is always going to be compared to my current one, but still.)

Im never gonna have another cat. My cat is perfect and i wouldnt trade her for the world.

How shitty would it be to have your awesome cat die and then get terrible bad cat to replace it? No thanks. There will only be one unless my kids want one

I've flat out regretted having her neutered just because I would be perfectly happy having cats directly related to her for the rest of my life.

I'm not saying I'd trade my cat for anything though.

Im 20 and my dad died at the age of 16 it was a friend since four years old. No money can replace that i could blow two million easily in 16 years. Dogs are special companions. I miss my dog and it was put down in june.

Well, to be fair they are probably just complying with the laws. Without them the result is probably more baby dogs being made on the street to be killed by police officers because you can't just have wild dogs roaming around by the hundreds? At least they try to help the most likely to survive/cutest ones. They have to kill some so that there is more room for ones that will have a shot at life, like you are saying.

my dog died really suddenly about a month ago and i gotta say its like losing one of the family. call me a pussy or whatever but it was really rough. if my dog was killed by someone on purpose or by accident i would be livid. i hope they get some restitution

My cat got hit by my librarian when I was in 4th grade. I hell it in my arms the last 10 min of it's life. It was making awful noises in so much pain. I was balling my eyes out just petting wishing there was something I could do. Actually started tearing up just thinking about it. When he died my dad took him from me and set him in a shoe box and we buried him in the back yard. I don't think I've ever cried so hard at any funeral.


Got another cat and it's the biggest piece of shit. Sucks at life, pisses on everything, shits random places. Not a fan. Pissed on my guitar, drumset, backpack full of homework, snowboard multiple times, laudry basket full of laudry I had done and folded and probably plenty of other stuff.

As far as the 2 million I almost would be It would make me feel like shit for ever. Like 2 million can make you happy, but I'd have that spot where I'd always be a little remorseful I think. Conscience'd
