So I'm looking to buy some new skis and the AR7's are one of the skis I'm looking into. I've been trying to look a bit into them and I've looked at lots of threads but I can't quite figure out what they are like. I have seen lots of posts saying "They are very butter and soft." At the same time I've seen lots that say that they're "very stiff and not buttery." So for anyone who has them , ridden them or for those who have friends who have them and know a bit please help.
It's going to be soft to every 16 year old 6' 120 pound newschooler. I'm 5'10" 175 lbs and I don't find them that stiff at all. I rode ar7s last year and alphas this year (same stiffness) and I don't find them overly stiff at all. So I guess the real question is how heavy/tall are you?
I got thalls this year and love em. Same ski as the ar7's, just softer. Deffinately recommend thalls. The ar7's would feel like boners to you considering your height and weight.
I'm currently skiing on last years AR7's, they're not fully as playful as Halo's (My previous ski). But I find the AR7's better for skiing bigger jumps. They are stiffer than the Halo's, but not too stiff. If you are looking for a softer, more playful ski I would look at the Halo's, but if you enjoy spending a lot of time on jumps I would go for the AR7's. Both skis are very fun, but I feel a lot more comfortable in the air with my AR7's.
