Ski comp questions please help!

Hey guys I've been in 2 comps a rail jam and a slopestyle event and in both i have come in dead last and I know that it isnt because I suck... at least i hope. I was wondering how the judging works because i was doing switch 1's..ect and i am getting beaten by kids doing plain grabs and 5050 boxes. can someone just let me know how i can score better with the judges so i dont get beat by people i know i am better than?

well, a switch 1 isnt really a trick that should win a slopestyle contest, but judging is also based off of how clean tricks are so maybe you flail alot or something? thats really all i can think of i guess, maybe the judging just blows

i know i dont exprect to win i just dont want to be bea by strait airs and grabs any more, also i dont flair my arms or anything i just didnt really do grabs when i spun in the contests.

grab more, judges love grabs; they show that you have control in the air.

I know i need to be doing more grabs with my spins but what grabs should i be doing more of, as in are there certain grabs that score better than others?

Try a grab that is more techical like truck driver or stake fish, judges love that

truck driver is more tech than most kids do it comps. if you can do them with spins.
Just work on a lot of grabs with your 3's. Also, start working on doing things both left and right side.
work on this and you should be set.

As someone who has judged a few competitions, I would score a straight air with a grab higher than a switch 180 depending on the situation. If you didn't grab, expect to get scored down in competitions if the judges know what's up.

Spin to win. Grab anywhere but the tails of your skis because that's thought of an easy grab. Be consistent. If you have ok tricks and don't fall that scores higher(sometimes) than a kid who lands one big trick but falls ten times trying it.
