The Idea
I am currently working with an existing grocery delivery company to deliver healthy food options to families who are on food assistance and who live in food deserts. A food desert is an urban area where there is little to no access to grocery stores. People residing in food deserts are left with few options, almost none are healthy nutritious options. This is a serious social problem in America today because there is a vast inequity in access to healthy food for people in lower socio economic classes. This problem has all sorts of implications. Health issues in this socioeconomic class are substantially higher for cancer, diabetes, heart disease, ect. My business will help reduce that inequity.
I am almost to the point of being able to actually begin deliveries. This funding would secure that. Your vote will actually be helping people!
