Official Breaking Bad 2nd Half Of Season 5 Hype Thread.

Straight from imdb:

"New Breaking Bad season 5,episode 9 air date finally revealed. According to a new report from Collider, Aaron Paul aka Jessie Pinkman,hopped on Twitter to finally give fans a an air date for the upcoming Breaking Bad episode 9 of season 5 and the rest of the 2nd half of the season,which was decided to be delayed for a full freaking year by AMC. It turns out that the air date will land on July 14th,2013 as Aaron tweeted, "New episodes of Breaking Bad will air July 14th. Get ready to break some shit." However, it's also reported that AMC has denied this air date,but it's believed to be true in spite of that as the AMC wanted to be the ones to drop the official air date. Also, they revealed that producer Vince Gilligan said, the series finale will be polarizing, and that it will draw comparisons to Casablanca."

Better call Saul.

I feel like it was a perfect ending for a perfect series. I love how they decided to go out on top instead of running it another couple seasons. Too many awesome shows have been ruined by going a couple seasons too long, The Sopranos, The Wire, Weeds and many others. This is what makes breaking bad in my opinion the greatest masterpiece in television history.

Exactly. It really is truly an incredible piece of art. I hope Vince gilligan can make another show that rivals this one, probably not but that man is a genius.

It still left a few questions like what's jesse's furure now, did flynn get the money, did skyler get a deal etc etc. but it was very clear and brought tons of closure which more than satisfied me. Couldnt have ended better.

I was really hoping Jessie would somehow find the money. I wonder where it is. Can't be any kind of bank. They seem protective/overcautious so I'm going to say its on the premise somewhere and the cops may end up finding it.

I really think they shouldn't have done the flash forwards in the beginning of this half season. If they didn't show us the ricen and the gun this episode would have been that much more mind blowing. We all would have forgotten about the ricen and wondered how he would have killed all the Nazis.


I love how they answered the questions of how is this cancer ridden guy gonna wield this crazy gun and kill em all. When he was building the thing it had a genius Walt moment.

No, no im not saying i didnt like it! It was perfect! It let me come to my own conclusions, made me feel like i could vision how those things played out. It let the viewer think for themselves which i loved! I would have preferred it to end the same way as you but it was still perfect.

that was awesome! i like how they wrapped everything up. part of me wishes walt would have found the money and gotten away though. still one of the best shows in television history....hands down.

i'm actually interested to see what the ratings were for the finale. iirc, The Walking Dead was the most watched drama series in history. I wonder if BB was able to beat those numbers?

it looks like walking dead has BB beat by a mile. The ozym whatever episode a couple of weeks ago was the most watched in bb history at 6.4 million viewers. TWD's record is 16.6 million for a night....that was last year's mid season premiere.

Yeah, it would have added another small amount of badassery if it had ended like that, but I think it ended well because the show was essentially Walt's story, and it ended with his death.

I think its because a show about a meth cooking professor doesnt appeal to the amount of people that Zombie shows do, although breaking bad is miles better than TWD

I haven't watched TWD much but maybe its easier to follow/easier to just pick up in the middle of an episode and watch?

BB is quite slow usually and if you're not into the story, it can definitely be boring.

Lived by the lab, died by the lab. Great ending to an amazing series. Did not expect him to use the ricin on Lidia, what a perfect way to end that segment of the story.


Did anyone else see the parallel in the final shot and the opening shot of the series? The zooming out of him lying down, in the beginning on an x-ray machine, at the end, dead as a doornail.

Amazing show, sad it had to end.

Was working while it aired. Rang up an older man and his card read "Walker White." For a second I read it as Walter White and thought it was a sign that tonight would be crazy. After realizing his name was one letter off and the episode was that good, it's obvious Vince sent him to me.

It was the same hysteric cry laugh that Walt did when he was lying in the floor with his money (end of season 2?).

Definitely going to miss the show, I have to find something new now.

really good show but way too many unbelievable things happen for it to be the best ever. Lydia wouldn't meet at the same place at the same time every week. Todd wouldn't just get up and look out the window where the shots came from. They way they killed Walter was pretty weak too. Overall it was an entertaining but really unrealistic series.

nobody would just assume there's a rotating machine gun outside he probably thought there were people.

and when it was panning down to when he picked up the mask for the last time I was completely sure it was going to be a pipe with that grin he had on his face

Also perfect ending. I'll love to read how many people thought it was unpredictable... yeah that's usually how good endings with closure are.

When they're not predictable with no closure, that's when everyone get's all pissed off like the Sopranos or Lost.

Anyone else notice Jesse's reaction while driving away was the same as Walt's when he got that cash from Tuco?

I think it ended great! The only thing that kind of disappointed me is that Walt died too satisfied. I feel like he should have been punished in some way.
