First drop negativity

Recently I've been read a lot of negative things about first drop on NS. I'm not quite sure why. Thoughts?

Yeah i can understand that. But I don't see why fd is perceived as crappy. It isn't. And I'd much rather support a freeskiing brand like fd over something like the north face

North Face is leaps, bounds, gallops, above FD. North Face makes actual technical outerwear. Rep FD all you want, but North Face has been around for a lot longer, is a lot bigger, makes a far better product. The North Face may have a broad range of target markets (not just freeskiing), but they certainely do support freeskiing, I mean, they sponsor the Stept movies and I'm pretty sure some others as well.

I agree that its better but is it similarly priced? No. Maybe some of their lower end stuff is priced the same as fd but then you lose the technical aspect at that point. See where I'm going? And yeah they sponsor Wallisch which is cool. But after checking out his promodel jacket i realized that the quality isn't really different at all from fd or any other brand really.

I honestly have nothing against the company and it seems like the customer service at FD is damn good. I would personally not buy FD in the foreseeable future just because I am not a fan of how the outerwear looks. I dont like the bright colors and the overall baggy "thug" type look that I associate with the brand.

I got a black FD jacket this winter and I love it. I feel people just get carried away with the hate. It's easy to follow the crowd. I like the colours FD come up with! Every each to there own and all that.

I have a saga jacket as well, and they are certainly level in quality and comfort.
