I know that a lot of our traffic comes from Google, Facebook, twitter and a gazillion other social/media type sites that either aggregate or share content.
However, there's another massive chunk and that is the 'direct referrals' - implying people that just type it into the browser or are sent a link via email.
My question is twofold... do you share stuff you see on NS? If so, then how do you share it?
Walk me through as much specifics as you can. Give everything too, from clicking like to sending in IM to posting it on other forums... let me know if and how you distribute what you see on here.

if i see a sick video or a funny/cool thread i might send them the link through facebook, or i might print out the link and mail it in an envelope, the mostly the first one

I save a lot of pictures from threads and send those over facebook messages. Sometimes I will link someone in a message a thread that I liked. Other times I just show my friends when they are over what's up on ns, or tell them about it without the computer.

I usually share threads and pictures on FB via the "share" button at the bottom of the page, videos I usually share by copy and pasting the URL. To share to twitter I either use the button on the page or retweet something someone else tweeted. Those are really the only two places I share stuff.

I always find myself sending links in DM's on facebook, so I could see all that traffic coming from people doing that with fb chat, skype, email combined

Ill share cool videos from NSG on my facebook.
Ill also talk to my friends that ski park with me but aren't on NS about funny threads but they always tell me I'm wasting my time on NS and that I'm addicted and that I should go outside.

The only stuff I've shared from NS is my own 'content' to certain facebook friends (like my edits and tr's and stuff). As said above, all content from others on NS seams silly to share anywhere else because those I know who would be interested will probably already see it on NS in the first place.

I send links to threads and pictures through Facebook, Facebook IM, email, tumblr and my blog via copying and pasting links.
I'll tend to only send links to NSers though

I typically just copy paste the link from my nav bar to a message or post on facebook, or to skype, or anywhere else really. Only time I use the embed things is when there's a "Like" # next to the share button (photos)

I think i've only shared it on facebook.. and I've only shared it as a status once because of what ElGato was talking about. I sometimes send links of videos to my friends that ski through facebook IM or I sent a girl a link to the women logic thread, other than that I just share stuff with my friends when we're hanging out

Sometimes I will share videos on facebook, the only problem is that when they show up on my wall, there is no embedded video player. That's why I never get any likes on the videos I share from NS. I'm not sure if there's any way make sure that there is a player built in, but if there is you guys should do it.

I share videos via email (sending the page link) and tumblr (embedding the video).
