Aggro skiers

Is it just me or do people seem to get super angry on the mountain more than anywhere else? Especially during the holidays and its super crowded, a lot of tourists just seem to carry this hateful outlook around with them. People seem to flip out a lot easier on the mountain than anywhere else. Lift line arguments, ski patrol/mountain safety getting pissed at people and profiling park skiers, parents screaming at people for skiing too close to their kids...Not to mention the countless videos you see of people getting into heated conflicts on the mountain about stupid shit.
My theory is that it's mostly gapers on vacation who have this sense of douchey entitlement that they bring to the mountain. You don't really see the locals getting into it on the mountain when the busy weeks are long gone. What do you guys think brings it on? I've just been noticing this negative aspect of skiing lately and it astonishes me just how angry people get...That, and I have been wanting to beat the shit out of tourists here in Tahoe lately...

I was at Vail last week and i was just taking a stroll through the park when a heard of fellow park skiers rolled in squad deep. Usually, everywhere I go, especially if I'm skiing alone, I'll try to make new friends. So I was hiking this up rail when I noticed that there were a few guys from the previously mentioned group hiking it as well, so I try to say hello, initiating a conversation, but they just fucking ignored me. Similar scenarios occurred throughout the week. In 7 days of skiing, 1 kid was nice enough to actually chat while riding. This happened last year when I went to Aspen as well. Maybe making friends on the hill is just an east coast thing.

saw two kids get into a fight on saturday. It was funny as fuck. "you're a bitch" "No you're a bitch" "yo man you've been tryin to start shit all day" hahahahah it was the shittiest fight i ever saw so fucking funny.

The only place I really ever get angry is when I'm skiing into the lift line.  If there are people that are blocking the way into the line because they are talking/putting on gear/oblivious then I start to get pissed

so last year i had gotten out of work early and decided to go skiing with my supervisor from work and a couple of my friends. so we're bombing thru the park just havin a jolly ol' time and my friend boosts off a jump really close to this other older dude (like late 40's)and we ride down to the next feature and stop. and the guy comes down and starts screaming and swearing at my friend. the guy looks like hes gunna punch my friend so i told him to back off and he swore at me and i swore back then ditched. so i keep cruising down the park and hit a hip and the guy skis under me and i almost land on him. so we get down to the bottom and i drop in for the last rail last out of my friends and i fall and my friends just ski down into the liftline cuz they didnt notice cuz i was last. and low and behold there was the guy with his older son waiting for me with there skis off. the dad is blocking my way and i almost hit him but right behind is the son with his pole like a baseball bat. i instincivley cover my face and the kid breaks his pole in half over my leg and i fall over then the kid and the dad get on top of me and start beating the shit out of me. luckily my friends and some other guy from the liftline pull the assholes off of me and they kid books it into the parking lot and the dad gets onto the lift. neither were caught. worst winter break ever. same week my bag was stolen with my goggles gopro and my work coat. i hate crazy assholes

Things like these make me so happy im all happy up here in northern vt with my dirty hippy crazy friends. Everybody love everybody. never seen any kind of hate

 but maybe im just a good guy? who knows.

but seriously people these days, skiing is my sanctuary from this sort of atmosphere but i guess you get assholes everywhere.

next time gloves and helmet off and show em who's boss

Where i go i don't usually have problems with people like this, like everyone in the park is nice. Usually the only prob is annoying skier dads with their families

This happened to me yesterday. At the end of the run, if you have speed and nobody is blocking the lift line, you can make it to the line without having to dig your poles in and push yourself, but these dickhead like 13 year old snowboarders just stand at the bottom and block the lift line.

So after going around them the 2 previous runs, the 3rd time I just rode over the kids snowboard and said "get the fuck out of the way." They didn't block the lift line after that.

I get angry at people who get angry. But one of the only times I've ever gotten into a heated argument was a couple years ago when some old asshole gouged the topsheets on my Salomon threats, and then started yelling about it.

Those were a great pair of skis . . . I wish I could've given them better :'(

I feel like I encounter this kind of shit more and more. A few days ago me and friends had a run in with the typical angry dad. We were hitting this small preseason park and a 10 year old stoped next to a jump and started to walk in circles on the knuckle. He did this for a solid minute, then decided to do it all over again on the next jump. I tried yelling at him but he didn´t seem to react. We obviously couldn´t drop in with him walking around in the landings, so a friend of mine decided to spray some snow on the kid since he wasn´t listening to us. My friend proceeds to do this and continues down to the lift. Apparently the father of the kid saw the whole thing and rushed right into my friend and pushed him in the chest. He then threatened to push him infront of a car while yelling "YOU DON`T SPRAY SNOW ON MY SON!" That´s when I got down to them and the dad grabs his kid and goes away

that's why i love the resorts here in sweden, everybody(almost) is scared of the park skiers haha.

if somone starts bitching you just raise your voice like a mofo and theyll be like"sorry :S" and ride away, never had any problem with that except for one time when a serious "look at me, i'm bigger and older than you" dad comes and start bitching, he kept on bitching like forever and finally he listned to me when i said "read fng rules!"( in the park btw) after going back up to the top of the park he didnt say anything for the rest of the times i saw him. probably felt embarassed for being pwned by a 15yo(i was 15 at the time)
