I've never understood why if you didn't know how to truly stop and were gaining to much speed, you wouldn't just fall over to stop anything major happening. Sure it might hurt a little but it is better than hitting a fucking wall. However the little kid is the exception, he cant think that logically.

I love fucking watching crashes like these. But at my local hill I actually watched a teenager break their back when they hit one side of the concrete base of a lift tower, and landed, on their back, on the other side, that was sad/scary to witness.

but to the video snobunny posted...if that guy is an instructor.. he is the worst instructor ever.. he could've easily ski'd up behind and grabbed him, that kid was clearly out of control... i've had to do it multiple times in my 5 years of ski instructing.

Cool story to follow below, don't read it you don't want to


One of the last years I taught like 8 or 9 years ago. WORST LESSON EVER.


So I got 3 kids. The brattiest kids you could have gotten. Before the lesson even started "MOOOOOOOOOOOMM I WANT A SODDAAAAAA" "You have drinks over here "NOOO I WANT A SODDA NOWWWW MOOOOMMMM"

And these kids weren't 3 like they were acting. To make things worse the mom was video taping the whole lesson. I felt like I was going to get sued if anything happened to them. The whole lesson " HELLPPPP MEEEEE" "NO HELLP MEEEEEE"

Get them to learn s turns finally. At the end of the lesson we go up the bunny hill. We were taking it in sections everything was fine. Then the girl decides shes peter fucking pan and decides it's time to fly, goes straight tucking down the hill. Smashed a dude in the back and they both rolled a few times. Dudes on the ground pretty beat up and not really moving.

Right as that happens the GM comes out and starts screaming at me for a couple minutes.


I love teaching but that's the kind of shit that made me stop. The bullshit wasn't worth it. I enjoy helping people learn and teaching people here and there, but fuck doing it as a job. Luckily one of the parks I worked for 3 years had a younger crowd so I was able to teach the kids without having to deal with a lot of bullshit.
