Skiing in jeans

probably a repost but hey

when riding domes i just wear jeans and its -3 and im not cold do you think you could ski in jeans on a mountain if i wore thermals underneath ?

Jeans are fine, but if you fall you will get wet and cold. Also they're not completely wind resistant so if you're going real fast or its windy you'll get cold. Lots of older, conservative skiers wear jeans and its great for them. They stay warm and they're cheap.

Yeh this is true, because jeans are cotton based, once you get wet you stay wet. As it is cotton's insulating properties are pretty poor. To be honest I wouldn't recommend cotton for on the mountain skiing, you'll be signing yourself up for long cold lift rides and ques.

This, if they get soaked you're better off taking them off I'm pretty sure. And yeah you don't go fast in a dome, once you get to a mountain you'll get cold. Although last year I saw a guy skiing in jeans in -15 at the Cairngorms, don't know how, he wasn't wearing gloves either, offered him a pair but he didn't want them.
