Tomorrow I'm going to hit an air bag for the first time and throw a couple of rodeos, corks, and what not. I'm kinda scared and nervous. How are air bags, talk me out of being a scared little bitch.
Yo! I did 16 hits on an airbag this weekend at Spirit Mountain. I learned two new tricks, switch rodeo 5's, and cork 7's. I also tried switch bios, and worked on truck driver misty 540's. General impression of the airbag: IT'S DOPE! The landings are soft, and it really is very safe. My buddy landed directly onto his head attempting a double back flip, and while it hurt a bit to hit his head, he was totally fine and skied the rest of the day. I think it would be very hard to get hurt on the bag. Overall, just go for it, and make sure you pop properly so you don't smash your head on the lip!
I tried to google airbag deaths because I know there are hundreds every year, but they have been removed from the internets. Guess its the type of shit our government doesn't want us to see. Be careful, unless you want to be removed from the internets.
i hit an airbag for the first time a couple weeks ago at big boulder in PA. i bought the pass for the bag and figured i would hit it one or two or three times or whatever and then be done.
wrong. i hiked the airbag with some other guys there until they closed the mountain and kicked us the fuck out.
the landings are impossibly soft, you can send fucking ANYTHING. by the end of the night i was just making shit up and going for it, my last hit i went off the jump and did a HUGE backflop just to see what it would feel like. it felt awesome. the end. the bag is really soft and you can land just about however, on your head, whatever and be fine.
the only thing i saw that looked painful or dangerous was a few skiers would stomp a landing, like actually land on their skis, and then be carrying enough speed to actually go skiing off the back of the bag. but it only happened a few times and they were fine.
so yeah, send it, do some doubles. fuck the police.
After you hit it 2 or 3 times you'll be able to just fucking do whatever you want, meaning you won't be scared at all anymore. I tried my first flip, and also actually spun with some grabs and whatnot.
