T Hall Pros are a waste of money...

alright, stoped by the shop today, and loan behold they are stocking armadas now. saw some t hall pros, and had to check them out. What a dissapointment. i had some pretty high expectations, but no. they are heavy (about the same as fujatives), damp (no pop), and not all that soft, just the last few inches of the tip and tail. they do have a vertical sidewall under foot, and the edges were detuned, but it was nothing worth spending 550 dollars on. the k2 fujatives have a similar flex pattern, more pop, are wider, and weigh about the same. all for under 300. if you feel like spending more, go for the 4frnt STLs. soft as shit flex, a billion times more pop than either t halls or fujas, way lighter, and better built. plus they got a 2 yr warrenty. Tisk tisk, i though for 550 you would be getting an AMAZING jib ski, but you not. these are offically the most overrated ski in the iundustry. they dont even say TANNER HALL on them or anything, so 90% of the peple on the hill would reconize them as tanner's skis (for all the t hall clones out ther). WASTE OF MONEY!!!!

im sorry, but the fact is you can not tell that just by flexing the ski. That had to be the worst review i have ever seen.

i agree that the stl is probably the best park ski out right now, but giveing the t$'s no chance is stupid. i know people that have skied on them and thought that they were incredible

actually, if you know what you are looking for, and not aimlessly flexing the ski, you can tell a TON about it. obviously i cant go and see how they turn and such, but the weight and flex are not very impressive.

The flex in the tip and tail is what armadas are known for and it works. The pop comes from the core under the boot and the soft tip and tail get your feet of the ground so you can compress the center better resulting in mad pop. That's how my ARV's work, so definately ski them before you do something like this again.

-Not that soft? I beg to differ. It has probably the softest flex in the tip I've ever seen. As for the tail, you need the strength to pump transitions in the pipe.

this is what im saying. they claimed to be super soft flexing and all that shit. they arnt. and you dont want the soft spot of a ski way out at the tips, but more in front and bnehind the bindings, cause thats wheer you butter at, not the tips. and you dont nosepress at the tips, but infront of the bindings. and they are heavy. not madtrix heavy, but they are pretty hefty. if you think they are light, pick up some 4frnts, lines, liberties, or even rossis. i know what i am talking about. I can garentee you i know more about how a ski works than 98% of the kids on this site. and this ski doesnt have near the amount of pop as its competitors. and as for them not having TANNER HALL writen on them, that was a joke, but sadly, a lot of people try to look just like him, and that would be the only reason to buy these over fujas or STLs. a pretty poor choice. besides, armada doesnt even make thier own skis. what a joke.

you CAN'T flex a ski in the store, and then say how it would ride. There is no connection there, you can think how they might ride, flexing in the store may give you a general idea of how a skis flex is put you really have to ride it to be able to feel.

youve been riding stiff skis too much, your not suposed to butter right behind your nose and toe, your supposed to butter on your actuall nose and tail.
And armada has always claimed vertical under foot and 40 or 60 (i don't remember what it was) degrees the rest of the ski.

so there is no connection between flex, weight, asidecut with how it will ride? like i said, i havent ridden them, but you can get a pretty darn good idea of how it will ride. chill people. im just sayin i wasnot impressed (at all) with such an expensive ski. it would be fine if they offered them at a more reasonable price, but for that $$$, you should be getting a much nicer ski.

wow, lets go back to the origonal post, and read it. did i ever say the ski would ride bad? no, i said it was:
heavy
had a firmer flex than expected
was expensive
was not very snappy.

CHill out. i am sorry i dont like armadas that much, but there is no need to twist words around and act like a bunch of dusche bags. and yeah, you can get a real good assumption of how a ski rides by flexing it (if you do it right and know what YOU are looking for). it isnt like it transforms into some thing completly different when it touches snow. how many of the people who posted have skied or seen the skis personally? i would like to know. all i said was this ski was way too expensive for what it was, and that the fujative and STLs are way better options at two difernt price ranges.

fujatives flex like crazy in the shop, but when you ski on them they are stiff until you start getting up on the tips and tails, you wouldn't expect it from such a soft ski...don't judge a book by it's cover

if i flex a ski, i try to compare it to a ski that i have ridden on before to get some kind of idea of how they'll ride.

like usually they'll have a pair of PEs (which i've ridden on for 2 seasons, so i know how it handles), so i'll flex the new skis, then the PEs, and that'll give me an IDEA (not a definate one, but an 'ok' one) of how the ski will ride. but, like a lot of other people have said, you need to demo the ski before you can give any definitive review on it.

it amazes me that the fujatives are so cheap yet a really good ski, i have talked 2 girls that dont want to spend a fortune on skis but want a twin tip to get them

its pretty pricey for what your getting out of a ski, regardless of how it rides, a ski like that does not cost that much to produce.

exactly, my main point wasnt saying its a bad ski, but its way overpriced. shure it probably skis well, but there is no reason for it to cost 550. maybe 300-400 like the fujas, but not 550. it isnt particularly light, isnt all that flexy, and it SUCKS all mountain (from what ive heard.) the fujatives kill park, and still handle all mountain fine. they are wider and weight about the same. the stls are WAY lighter, more snappier, and i would be willing to bet my left nut that they will blow the t halls out of the water everywhere, and they are still cheaper, even at MSRP.

to eastcoast skier or whatever....why do you think that the t$'s are not good all mountain..but the fujas are. thats kinda stupid to say. i have rode the fujatives and while i enjoyed them all around the hill (cause i like doing butters off everything) i know that most people wouldnt have liked them. The tanners just seem way more solid and durable...ive never skied them, but i know people that have. and i think that if anything, the tanners would be better around the mountain. even though neither of them are meant for that..

side note: msp's are the best all around twin...so...yeah.

^some people think differently than you, they may want two pairs of skis. Or they may like ridding a ski like that all mountain...Zach Davison from what i'm told rode the trouble makers all last year and he skied at baker meaning he probably wasn't skiing many groomers.

Why should I destroy the edges on my skis that I'm using for things that require it, i.e. pipe and all mountain? I'm not made of money, and I can't afford a brand new whole setup every season. I will always have a seperate pairs for jumps/rails, and pipe/all mtn.

spending much less on the jump/rail skis that is...for example....I got a pair of perfect condition concepts off ebay for 90 bucks. Much cheaper buying things like that each season rather than brand new stix, and will do just fine in the park.

I didnt read everybodys posts so this has probably been said but;
flexing a ski in a shop which only gives an idea of how they might ride, and then posting that its 'the most overrated ski' isn't cool at all. If you would have just said what you thought when you flexed them and left it at that, then it was a helpful post.

ill take this guys word. i have read a lot of the other stuff he has posted and it seemed pretty respectable. i think its way over priced even if itw as a great ski. he just gave some points about why it would not be a good buy at 550 and most of it seems pretty reasonable

I am with east coast here. AS I am sick off all you little punks posting your shit. When I look at a ski and flex it I can get a reasonalbly good idea how it will ski. This is due to having skied a large amount of skis from race skis to powder to park skis. And when you have skied a shit load of skis and have flexed them as well you can make a reasonable assumption. With this as well as knowledge on the construction of the ski, and design of it, and having skied most other models the company makes, you can almost go as far to offer a review. Any way, look forwad to any replys once your school teachers let you on the internet. ANd I wont be buying Tanners ski as, it is to expensive, and you dont need good skis to slide rails and hit jumps.

thank you. i have ridden a ton of skis, and i know way more about construction and how it effects the ski than 98% of the people here (i was and am still planning on building a couple one off custom twins), so i know my shit. sure, i havent ridden them, but everyone is askin about them, and i wanted to let you guys know that they are waste of money. unless you dont know how to work an edge file, there is no logical reason to buy them

east_coast the ski you are talking about, you have no idea if it is going to be a waste of money for someone else. No one is telling you that you can't get a good comparison to how another ski flexes. Its that you came on here and pretty much told everyone to not buy a certain ski because YOU thought it was cheap and didn't have what you needed in a ski. Its time for you to stop.

Your an idiot how can you tell it has no pop, the flex sucks,and its simular to the fugative jsut by looking at it?First off it doesnt have an 85mm waist, it not made out of woodchips, and you said they are wicked stiff but simular flex to the fugatives...just shut up, that was posibly the stupidest thing ive read in my life!
